The Roly Poly dies have been coming out over the last year - there is a penguin, a ladybug, a duck and so many more. (There's a new Roly Poly Monkey with this release.) But also very exciting is the new stamp set Roly Poly Sentiments. I pulled out the previously release Roly Poly Owl and added one of the new sentiment.
I used semi-realistic colors for a great-horned owl because this is going to my 16-year old son for Valentines Day and he doesn't do bright or cutesy. He recently had a driving experience with a great-horned owl swooping in front of the car at night, and he almost swore off driving. These owls are huge; they block out the entire windshield. It feels almost supernatural because you don't know at first what happened, you just know that this large (and silent) "thing" glided by in front of you. The next night, we were in the hot tub at night and the tree in the yard rustled. Then we heard a "whooo". My son couldn't get out of the hot tub and into the house fast enough!! Terrible mom that I am, he's getting a card with a scary(?) owl on it for Valentines!
Here's the supply list for this card - but be sure to keep reading for a chance at prizes and another sneak peek.

Before I share a peek at another set, I'm excited to tell you that Taylored Expressions is celebrating Release Week with some fabulous giveaways! Visit the TE Blog to answer Taylor's Question of the Day for a chance to win a prize from the latest release!
The next set that I want to show you is the Lookin' Sharp Stamp & Die Combo. It is absolutely charming - two cute little cacti with funny little sentiments.
I used the Tuck & Close Notecard die along with the Stitched Bracket Stacklet to make little notecards. Each card got a different sentiment and one of the cacti.
I love the new Loopy Loops Embossing Folder so I embossed just the bottom flap of the notecard for interest. I used a single hold punch to add a hole in the corner and then tied each notecard onto the candy.
Isn't this just a fun and unique set? Sadly, I'm sure it won't be long before I use the "Sorry I was so prickly" card! And I love the "I'm a hugger" with the cactus!! (Teenagers are so much more huggy now than we were - I'm sure I'll use this one when one of my sons is down in the dumps.)
Be sure to head over to the TE Blog for links to all of the other designers and to enter the question of the day contest.
