Freshly Made Sketches: Just a Note

It's time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Today we have a sketch by Jen Brum and here’s what I did with it!
10.28 FMS

I struggled with this challenge and I don't know why.  I got my mind set around a particular direction (snowdrifts and snowmen) and I tried and tried but it just was never right.  I do most of my crafting on the weekend but by Monday morning with a week of work looming in front of me, I had nothing for FMS. That's how long I struggled. Then I saw the sentiment in my not-yet-used stash - it's by The Stamp Market - as I explored what I had from them, the die popped out as a fun way to fill a corner (although it's actually a cover die).  I found paper with lots of colors in a more muted, autumn tone - and it all came together in no time!  I need to listen to that little crafting voice more often - the voice that says "this isn't right" or "go for it"!

I hope to see you playing along with us this week a Freshly Made Sketches.

  1. This is GENIUS!!! I have this flower die and have never used it. I LOVE what you did!! GREAT take on this sketch!!!

  2. This challenge is a difficult one, but I'd never know that you struggled with it, Kim. Love your card! The elements work beautifully together.

  3. I struggled with the angles too! But yours came out fabulous! I love the sweet white flowers drifting down!

  4. This shows no signs of struggle Kim, it's fabulous! Those flowers were the perfect choice to fill that corner!

  5. I totally love what you've done with the sketch! That sentiment is perfect and I love those little white flowers! It all looks perfect with that background paper!

  6. Kim, it's clear I need to get that blooming die out again! It sure makes a statement in your pretty Autumn-colored corner! Yes, I agree that sentiment was a gorgeous jumping off point!

  7. While I try to listen to all my "pings," I hadn't had many these last few months. Now, they're crowding my brain and I have to play pick and choose, lol! This turned out beautifully, and it was worth all your struggling. I LOVE that die! It works so well in the corner of your card. It's got a nice soft and gentle feel to it, as does the paper you've chosen. This is gorgeous. I quite rather like it tons! Stay safe. xo Bev

  8. These colours work beautifully together and those white flowers really pop against the gorgeous background.
