I have one more peek for you.
This release is all about celebrations. The paper, the Little Bits dies, the sentiments. I decided to bring them all together into one celebratory card. I used one of the funny sentiments from
Another Year Older but I made the rest of it nice to offset the sarcasem!
I had never used the Color Block Cutting Plate before. As much as I love to work with dies and little scenes, it's the perfect backdrop! I filled in a number of squares with paper from the new Hello Happiness Paper Pack. The little scalloped square is part of the cutting plate - each square actually comes with smaller dies to fit inside. I filled the square with Little Bits - Confetti and Candle. The rest of the squares are the new Happy Birthday Banner, Little Bits - Cupcake, Little Bits - Ice Cream Sundae and Bloomers 3.
If the birthday celebration hasn't been exciting enough, there's even more news. We have a new challenge blog starting today - the Share Joy Challenge. And guess who the coordinator is - the incomparable Jen Shults of Deconstructing Jen fame. (Did anybody else go into mourning when The Deconstructed Sketch shut down? Now we know why!) A new challenge will open every Thursday at 7 a.m. PST and the first one is live now!
Each challenge will include a sketch and one other thing - players can use one or both.
I had no doubt what stamp set that I would use. There's another new Grumplings set with this release - Grouchy Grumplings. It's a nice general set that will make the recipient of your card smile. (I know a set with "grouchy" in the title is an odd fit for a share "joy" challenge but this image definitely made me grin. Plus I have a friend who is famous for not "shining" and this will go out to her when she needs a smile.) Because there was yellow, blue and green in the challenge, I pulled out the rise and shine grumpling and created a little sunrise scene. I did attempt to follow the sketch - but I totally forgot the strip down the left side.
I adore the Grumplings!!
And I adore challenges! Hope to see you playing along (after going shopping!!)
