My plan for this one came pretty quickly - mostly because I love woodgrain backgrounds and I happened to have this set of three dies on my desk when I first saw the inspiration photo. The colors gave me a little trouble. I originally started with a plain wood background paper and tried to match the glasses exactly with tan and brown. It seemed so dark and somber, and I realized that I have made a big mental switch from browns to grays. I used to have a favorite brown cardstock that came out on virtually every card - but now I actually had problems finding it - strange how tastes change, isn't it?
Anyway, I went digging my piles of paper and saw this printed woodgrain. I don't use a lot of paper with scenes like this - but in this case, it solved all of my problems - LOVE the print and the woodgrain! Plus it allowed me to go back to my beloved grays!! I hope you can still see the inspiration in my card even though it took a few twists and turns along the way.
Adore that big paper and well done with the bubble words.

ReplyDeleteA brilliant take on the Shades photo, Kim! The speech bubbles, the colours, the paper...a combination that delights!
