Honestly, if I had a feather - my card would have had a feather on it. But I don't have a feather - so I had to think outside the box. I went through my dies. I started down the path of a die cut tree or maybe a branch. I was staring into space when I saw my box of stamps-that-will-not-be-put-away-until-they-see-ink and right on top was this set that I've looked at the last few months wondering what I was thinking when I bought it. Don't get me wrong - I love, love, LOVE what I have seen done with it - but I don't think it's me because it's not regular and straight and "comfortable".
So...I used it...and here's my big stretch...
- Stamps: Papertrey Ink Watercolor Wonder, Think Big Favorites #3
- Paper: Papertrey Ink Terracotta Tile, Smokey Shadow
- Ink: Papertrey Ink Terracotta Tile, Plum Pudding, Summer Sunrise, Fine Linen, Smokey Shadow
- Accessories: misc gems colored with Copics
Awesome card!
ReplyDeleteLove the artsy feel of it.
And the layout/ sketch is perfect!
Bye from the Netherlands,

Kim, I love this set of stamps and when I saw the sketch immediately knew I wanted to use them, then I saw your card and knew it would work. I love how you have used the stamps and the colours are so striking. Thanks for your inspiration-I gave you a shout and displayed your card on my blog-so thank you!

ReplyDeleteLooks like your big stretch was long awaited, u explored another set of creative side in you.... Card is amazing and colors perfection :) I always admire ur cards :)
ReplyDeleteI second (in triplicate) the comments that applaud this card: it's beautiful! You've stretched something pretty, and most important, you've stretched "you" in trying - and succeeding - at new techniques! Isn't it fantastic when 'exercise' pays off?? And I well know - and appreciate - how complex, simple can be!! If card-making was a sport, I'd be darn close to an Olympian with all my *efforts*!! Love your card; love your post!

I LOVE the final result, but I certainly understand how these 'apparently simple' cards can take a long time to figure out!! You did a great job - and congrats to you for challenging yourself to use this set, even though it doesn't feel like you. The great job you did is definitely YOU!

ReplyDeleteThis card is amazing! It's kind of hard for me to imagine you struggling with it. I have been so back and forth on buying this set. I LOVE what I've seen others do with it (now YOU included), but I just don't know if I would be able to use it. (P.S. Thanks for your kind comment...and yes, I have found glitter in my eyebrows...among several other random places. :) )
