I have to explain this card. My husband and 13-year old son were in Utah from last Wednesday through Sunday (we're from Colorado) at a lacrosse tournament. Actually, it wasn't technically a tournament, but since they played teams from Arizona, Texas, Idaho, Nevada and even Colorado - and won every game - I think they can claim to be "best in the west". I had just gotten this stamp set and was thrilled when I saw this stamp (although I am disappointed that the sentiment doesn't fit in the banner - you'd think they would design it a little better).
He only came home with minor damage.

Ouch ... glad Erik was ok ... and well done to him and his team! How great that you were inspired by the uniforms, Kim ... your card is a brilliant match (no pun intended ... or was there?)! Anita :)
ReplyDeleteI also wanted to say "ouch" My oldest daughter played hockey, and I remember her coming home one day after a hockey ball hit her on the forehead... she had to be admitted to theatre to drain the haematoma that formed. I guess that's life!
ReplyDeleteAnyway... I actually came to say I LOVE you card ;)
Kim I love your card and especially the star embossing. I have a collection of black eye photos and various other injuries. Keepers for sure. Congrats to your son and his team!
ReplyDeletePerfect card for a teen boy! Love those stars and the white panel against the blue and red. Great card. And yikes! Glad Erik is ok--my teenage boys, (all 5) actually grew up in spite of all their injuries! Love this card. Your work is always delightful! Bev
ReplyDeleteWhat a great card for your teenage son! And it sounds like they are definitely the best in the west - can't believe there was such a perfect sentiment!! The embossed stars and blue and red sequins add the perfect finishing touch! So sorry about his eye!!! yikes!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Boys and shiners go together...don't they?
ReplyDeleteGREAT card Kim and what fun uniforms. The black eye...BOO...the freckles...CUTE!!
ReplyDeleteI'm in the market for a stars embossing folder, can you tell me which one you used. I really like the size of the stars!
Love where the inspiration for this card came from, and I love the embossed stars. Great card!
ReplyDeleteAdorable card...love that you added sequins to it.
ReplyDeleteExcellent card for a teenager, and wonderful way to 'applaud' the best in the west status your son and his team earned! As for the horsing around injury - ouch - but I bet it makes for a great story (and some attention from the girls, too!). Glad he's okay; shenanigans and boys... I'm so glad I took a 'catch-up' jaunt your way - the 'ick' that comes with rainfall warnings and gloomy, heavy clouds has gone away! Thank you for the uplifting posts and the charming, inspiring, always something-to-delight in cards!

Your card is perfect for the occasion, and I love the partial embossing of the stars on one side. The sequins add just enough to make this a stand-out card! WTG on their wins, and what a great shiner too! Ouch!
ReplyDeletePoor guy! I love your CAS creation~love the sequins you snuck in also!
ReplyDeletePerfect card! Congratulations on the win!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Great colors and the star embossing is so cool. That is very strange that the sentiment doesn't fit the banner! It still looks great though. Oh and I forgot to mention I love the sequins too! Thanks for playing at ATCAS. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! I love how you took inspiration from the uniforms, especially for those fab embossed stars.
