Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek 1: Flippin' and Blending

It's day 1 of sneak peeks for the October release from Taylored Expressions!!  Today's featured products all relate to the kitchen and food-related gifts, along with some fabulous new basics such as cutting plates, embossing folders and more stitched stacklets.

Be sure to check all of the other designers starting on the Taylored Expressions blog because there is too much for one designer to show off in just a few days.

All the products that I have used are linked at the bottom, but remember that new products aren't live until Thursday, November 5, 7 a.m. PST.

Taylored Expressions is celebrating Release Week with some fabulous giveaways! Visit the TE Blog each Sneak Peek Day this week for details on how you can enter to win.

One of the themes of this release is food - cooking, baking and giving! There are a variety of stamps, dies and other new products make wonderful and warm cards and tags which can be particularly important during the season of good food and gift giving. But I didn't go that way! It's probably a sad statement, but I took the Little Bits - Blender and used it with alcoholic beverages!!

Taylored Expressions Blender

The beverages come from the previously released Eventful-Cocktail Party border die - I just cut individual drinks. Then I watercolored them to give it a nice swirl of color.  The "blended" idea also comes from the colors, but I realized when I got done that it's a little obscure that the yellow and blue make the green in the middle!  The sentiment comes from a previously released coffee set - Joe To-Go Stamp & Die Combo.

The Stitched Rectangle Stacklets and Stitched Square Stacklets are great new basic dies being released this month.  I used two small squares, a big rectangle and then I did a little finagling on the smaller rectangle. The actual die is taller - too tall for the blender. I cut the smallest die and then I slid the die a bit, and cut again. It's very easy to do with stitched dies because the stitching kind of "locks" the die into place.

Since I went for alcoholic beverages on my first project, I wanted to take this second project into true baking and gift-giving.  I created a series of four tags that I could use for gift giving this season.

I used the previously released Build-a-Tag sets 1 through 4. I've been collecting these sets of dies and have routinely used the various elements within the set, but I haven't really focused on them as tags, so I thought this would be a good time to "build" my tags! Each tag uses a different Build-a-Tag set. The only difference is the "bake" tag - I had to use a bigger square for the sentiment than is included in the Build-a-Tag 3 set. Also, the heart die used on each one is from Build-a-Tag 2.

(To take pictures I purchased some loaves of quick bread - if the pictures aren't of the highest quality it is because my boys and men were breathing down my neck waiting for me to get the pictures taken so that they could eat it!)

The first three tags use stamps and dies from the new set Flippin' Awesome.  (Isn't that the greatest name?!)

There are other great sentiments from this set, but I wanted to make a tag that was totally "baking" focused so the next tag uses stamps and a die from Life is a Kitchen.

Had I actually baked these loaves of bread (which I will do when I actually use the tags), Taylored Expressions has made it very easy to include a coordinating recipe.  Check out these pre-printed recipe cards that match the sets perfectly!

FYI - I wandered into the Kitchen Collection store in our local outlets and they had a display of mini tools for $1-$2 each.  Props are not usually my thing - mainly because it takes shopping time to find the right props. (I buy; I don't shop.)  But I was thrilled to find these little items to use with the packages.

Be sure to head over to the Taylored Expressions blog to see all the sneak peeks for today and be sure to leave a comment for your chance to win a prize.
