I love sketch challenges because of the wide open interpretation. I actually started this card with little terracotta vases, but am not posting it here because I decided it was a bit too hard to see the sketch in it (I think I'll post it tomorrow). I decided to stick with rectangles. Then I saw a recent purchase on my desk - the wooden letters. I started thinking of three letters I could use - and when I came up with "HEY" that's when the monkeys in the jungle popped into my head! Now I have another card in my stash for my college kids. It might be a bit "cute" for 21 and 25 year old sons - but it seems very appropriate!
I hope to see you playing along with us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!

ReplyDeleteWhat a fun card, those monkeys are so cute1
ReplyDeleteKim, your interpretation of the sketch is awesome! I love how your creative mind works. The wooden letters on those beautiful muted patterned paper rectangles, are the perfect elements for this sketch. The stitched border detail, the placement of the leaves, those cute monkeys ... love them all!
ReplyDeleteSuper-cute and clever! The jungle theme and the monkeys are such a fun look.
