Freshly Made Sketches: Love

It's time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Today we have a sketch by Jen Brum.

It's the week before Valentine's Day.  I don't send many Valentines out, but I definitely send a card to my 101-year old grandmother.  That was the plan for this card but now I'm looking at it and I'm not so sure.  Lots of love and hearts but perhaps a bit modern??

FMS Love

I found this to be a very challenging sketch - it's not a card that I would have created for myself.  But I love the results and having the sketch in front of me really helped.  A sketch can be a stepping step or inspiration, but in this case, for the most part I have the sizes and placement just as in the sketch.  That made it easier for me to step out of my comfort zone and perhaps I've learned that I can do it!

I hope to see you playing along this week.  I'm going to read everybody's posts carefully so see if it was a challenge for you too!

  4. Your grandmother is going to love this. While she'll delight in its design, she'll love it because it came from you! You're a good granddaughter! And I love it. I can so relate to comfort zone cards. But you did a great job, and I love your take on this sketch. Sweet!! Bev
