Freshly Made Sketches: Love

It's time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Today we have a sketch by Jen Brum.

It's the week before Valentine's Day.  I don't send many Valentines out, but I definitely send a card to my 101-year old grandmother.  That was the plan for this card but now I'm looking at it and I'm not so sure.  Lots of love and hearts but perhaps a bit modern??

FMS Love

I found this to be a very challenging sketch - it's not a card that I would have created for myself.  But I love the results and having the sketch in front of me really helped.  A sketch can be a stepping step or inspiration, but in this case, for the most part I have the sizes and placement just as in the sketch.  That made it easier for me to step out of my comfort zone and perhaps I've learned that I can do it!

I hope to see you playing along this week.  I'm going to read everybody's posts carefully so see if it was a challenge for you too!

  1. Your fun cascade of hearts is as sweet as can be! I think Grandma would love it....I do!

  2. I agree with Linda. I think your grandma will love this card. I know I do! All the different kinds of hearts are awesome!

  3. Love all the colors and different shaped hearts! Great take on the sketch, too!

  4. Your grandmother is going to love this. While she'll delight in its design, she'll love it because it came from you! You're a good granddaughter! And I love it. I can so relate to comfort zone cards. But you did a great job, and I love your take on this sketch. Sweet!! Bev

  5. What a great Valentine using the sketch! love all the hearts flowing down the side!

  6. I think your grandmother will love it and the spirit in which it was created. Who wouldn't love floating hearts?!?!?

  7. Oh I love this card and I think your grandmother will too! Those hearts are so pretty! I love the different sizes and shapes!! It's just perfect!

  8. I think this card looks fabulous and so natural! Each heart looks like it should absolutely be where you've placed it and I think your grandmother will love this.

  9. Would never have guessed this was a challenging sketch for you, Kim as your card is wonderful! I bet Grandma loved the card!
