I absolutely love the angles. You could just use two fabulous pieces of patterned paper and a sentiment and you'd have a perfect card! Sadly, I still struggled with the sketch. But it's really more the new craft room and just not quite being comfortable yet. I can't reach immediately to the right and grab an ink pad. I couldn't find the tape I use for shakers (on a card for next week!) - it's a foot wide circle of foam tape so it should be hard to lose but I've managed. I totally haven't figured out photos. I was thrilled to have natural light in my new room but then what happens? A gloomy weekend. The light is too flat in the morning and too bright in the afternoon so now I have to come home for lunch to take pictures (darn!) And none of you feel sorry for me, do you?? (Me neither - because when I get it all figured out, it will be fabulous!)
This started out with the idea of using a border die but just couldn't find one that worked. So I thought I'd use a long leaf as the border, but then saw this die and decided to make it work just because I liked it!! I have no idea what I'll use this for. To be honest, I can't even decide whether it's more feminine or masculine. But I like it and for today, that's all that counts!
I hope to see you playing along with us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!

This is a gorgeous leaf -- I love how you've blended the ink colors. And I think this card is gender neutral -- perfect for anyone. It sounds like you just need to spend more time in that new craft room in order to properly figure everything out. :)
ReplyDeleteThe leaf is wonderful and as well as the texture and inkiness! Crisp and stylish!
ReplyDeleteThis is SO cool...what a wonderful way to interpret that sketch!
ReplyDeleteI like it, too!!! Fabulous design!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great masculine card...I love it!
ReplyDeleteOh this card is so gorgeous Kim! I love the woodgrain panel and that beautiful leaf. The colours are so elegant! I know what you mean about the new craft room. I had lost all my extra white paper. I couldn't find it anywhere and was pretty certain I was losing my mind. I had unpacked all the boxes so I couldn't figure out where it was. I finally found it - under my punches. It was the only unpacked box because my punch holder hadn't arrived yet. Honestly.
ReplyDeleteYou can't decide because it is perfect for anyone!! I love the leaf and the colors on this. Such a pretty take on the sketch.
ReplyDeleteWow! I just love this card, Kim! That leaf is absolutely gorgeous and what a great way to use the sketch.
ReplyDeleteOh how beautiful! I am totally in love with the neutral softness you've given your card!
ReplyDeleteI think the card you've ended up with is pretty great! It's got the requisite angles and I think you've jazzed things up a bit by adding that die cut leaf. Love the earthy colors and I think this works as a masculine or feminine card.
