Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: A Good Read

It's time for a new challenge at the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: A Good Read.

I had a ball with this one!  First - I am a passionate reader but I was surprised to realize I have only one stamp set about books or reading and it's ancient!!  I actually don't know how long ago I bought it - but it was in the dusty section of my stamps. So while I was in the dusty section, I found three other sets to use as as accents - the teacup, the strip of text in the background and the flourish.  I'm still sneezing from the dust - but I had so much re-discovering and then playing with these sets.

CC A Good Read

The inspiration photo was more vintage with primary colors and I did start out in that direction.  Then I started thinking about who I might give this to and I wanted to add some pink and some softness.  For interest, I left part of the banner hanging over the edge - since it's a 4 1/4" square card, even with the banner it will still fit in a standard sized envelope.

I hope to see you playing along with Curtain Call's A Good Read challenge!

  3. Great quote and card. Yes, reading in a quiet place with a cup of tea or coffee is bliss. Hoping for a few hours of it over the Christmas break :)

  4. Beautiful! I 'used' to be an avid reader, and then card-making came along. Need to set time aside daily to return to my love for books; I have at least 4 sitting on the coffee table, awaiting my attention...
