I just had one more Thanksgiving card to go - for my 24-year old son who has been very indecisive as to whether he was coming home for the holiday. In fairness to him, last year he and I ended up at Waffle House so I understand his hesitance!! The other two guys were working and I really thought more restaurants would be open. (We did have a nice meal on Saturday so all wasn't lost.) He finally announced he'd be here - so I thought I'd send him an early card to let him know there would be a full Thanksgiving feast this year!!
I adore this turkey and there's much more in the set than you see here. There's a squirrel, a pumpkin, an acorn, leaves, a mushroom - all with the same fun look as this turkey. The sentiment is from a long-gone company (but designed by the fabulous Kim Hughes).
I hope to see you playing along with us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!!

Fun card, Kim! Glad your son is going to be home for Thanksgiving - your story reminded me of the time poor planning had us eating at El Pollo Loco for our holiday dinner.
ReplyDeleteI love your work, Kim and so admire the way you send cards to your sons. I need to do more of that. This one is so fun! Love that turkey!
ReplyDeleteAdorable! That turkey makes me laugh, as does your story about Waffle House. I know that it's who you spend the day with and not what you have to eat that truly matters, but I'm wishing you a better Thanksgiving experience this year! :)
ReplyDeleteEek! I LOVE this turkey! He's so cute! Such a great sentiment too!!! Perfect for Thanksgiving!!! I must say that I wouldn't complain about waffles for Thanksgiving!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is too darn CUTE!!
ReplyDeleteThis is as cute as can be! Love that gobbler!

ReplyDeleteSuch fun! And let's face it, over time that Waffle House story will become part of the family legend.
