Freshly Made Sketches: Birthday Balloons

It's time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Today we have a sketch by Jennifer Timko.

It seems like half of my department at the office has birthdays in May so I've been heavy into birthday cards.  For most of them, I have to stay fairly "generic" because I don't know the person well enough to be able to tailor it for them.  This is an example.  I figured I couldn't go wrong with balloons!

FMS Balloons

I found the paper - retired Stampin' Up. Then I found balloon dies from Lil' Inkers of the right size and look (sponged to mirror the balloons on the paper).  Then I wanted a sentiment that was one line but still slightly quirky and I found that from Papertrey Ink!  The banner is my go-to banner stacklet from Taylored Expressions.  I'm not sure I could have fit many more companies on my card!!

I hope to see you playing along!

The paper is from the retired paper pack from Stampin' Up called Birthday Bash - which amused me when I picked the sentiment and it's from PTI's Birthday Bash!!

  1. Balloons are always perfect for birthdays! You used one of my favorite DSPs! Cute card!

  2. I think it is great that you make and give cards to your co-workers. If I did that here, they'd think I was crazy, but then I do work in a male-dominated environment and birthdays aren't even acknowledged :) Anyway, fabulous card - those balloon dies are perfect with that paper.

  3. Love this card! The balloons are perfect for a generic card! Love the mix of colours! The sequins are a fabulous touch. I love sequins far too much!!!

  4. This is just gorgeous Kim! I love your fun birthday card with that fab DSP!

  5. Love the balloons and these colors! The banner is perfect for the sketch!!

  6. Your colleagues must be thrilled to receive cards from you: pretty (or handsome, as the case may be) and ever so thoughtful! The balloons on this one: fabulous!

Thank you for taking the time to comment on my card! I do get spam comments so your comment will be held until I read it and release it!
