Freshly Made Sketches: Prayers & Hugs

It's time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Today we have a sketch!!

And here's my card....

FMS Prayers & Hugs

This sketch and card is a real lesson in how many different ways you can use a single sketch. When I create a sketch, I make very certain that I can actually use the sketch - that it doesn't stump me. Typically I create the card first, then draw the sketch. At the beginning of this month, I posted a card for an entirely different reason. I decided that I really liked it and created the sketch, knowing that I would have to make a new card specifically for FMS - but that I could use the same concept with a few tweaks. I don't know what happened but today's card couldn't be more different from the original. Check these out; same basic layout, totally different cards!!

And that is the reason that I LOVE sketches - and without a doubt, Freshly Made Sketches are the best sketches out there!!

I hope to see you playing along!

  1. Your sketch is is your inspiration card! Love this week's card as well with its gorgeous flowered circle! The sentiment is perfectly done with the diecuts and word strips!

  2. How lovely!! This card is so pretty!!

  3. Love the DP you used, this is delightful!!

  4. Hello Kim: I was wondering if you have noticed that there is something weird going on with the FMS page today, the whole page is gray, nothing is showing on the sides and all I can see are the cards posted by the DT and a few at the bottom from the entries. There is no link either to upload cards.
I hope this can be fixed, so we don't miss on a great sketch.
    Thank you.
    Maria Rodriguez.

  5. Pretty card with pretty dsp and pretty colors. Love what you've done with the sentiment too.

  6. Oooh! Oooh! I just got this stamp set with die in the mail this week! Thanks for some gorgeous inspiration! Hugs xx

  7. Such a pretty card Kim! I love that patterned paper! It's so pretty! Love the sentiment as well! Such gorgeous colours and such a thoughtful card!

  8. This is indeed a very versatile sketch - as evidenced by the DT cards. Your card is beautiful and the patterned paper looks fabulous behind the sentiment.

  9. Both of these cards are so pretty!! And what a difference between them! Just shows what an amazing sketch this is!! Thanks for the inspiration this week!

  10. Great! colors I love that beautiful paper : ) and your sweet sentiment. any one receiving this card will feel loved.

  11. The same sketch yielding two very different cards is the hallmark of a true artist, I think. Thanks for giving us such a versatile sketch!
