It's day 3 of sneak peeks for the February release from
Taylored Expressions!! This release is all about spring, St. Patrick's Day and Easter. Today I am using a stunning stained glass set and a cute embossing folder.
Be
sure to check out all of the other designers starting on the
Taylored Expressions blog because there is just too much for one designer to show off in just a few days.
All the products that I have used are linked at the bottom, but remember that new products aren't live until
Thursday, February 4, 7 a.m. PST.
Taylored Expressions is celebrating Release Week with some fabulous giveaways! Visit the TE blog each Sneak Peek Day this week for details on how you can enter to win.
Today I have some elegance and some sweetness. I'll start with an elegant stained glass window from
Light of the World. The image fits perfectly in one die from
Label Stacklets 5. I also cut the next size up leaving the bottom off the edge of the cutting plate so that it didn't cut. Then I used my paper cutter to cut the sides down further to give me room for a sentiment. I made two of these and layered them so this frame stood up slightly above the stained glass. I added it all to a simple brick background so the full focus was on the stained glass. (I inked the brick embossing folder with white ink to give a little more dimension.)
It's so fun to color. I used Copics, but I colored in a swirly motion and didn't try to color multiple times for full coverage - I wanted some lighter and darker spots to mimic real stained glass. I spritzed it with shimmer spritz to add a glow (seen above, I took the picture below with the light at a different angle so you could see the coloring, not the shine.)
Then for some sweetness. There's a new embossing folder called Butterfly Swirls. I thought those playful little butterflies would look great fluttering behind some big flowers - so I pulled out the previously release dies Tiptoe through the Tulips. I framed it all with the biggest die from the Frame in Frame Cutting Plate and added a stitched flag and a sentiment from another new set, Wildflower Bouquet.
I love the look of those butterflies swirling around my tulips.
Be sure to check out all of the other designers listed on the TE blog and remember to leave a comment while you are there for a chance to win a prize. Come back tomorrow for more sneak peeks!
SUPPLY LIST
Links to new products will not work until the release on February 4th.
Stained Glass
I gave the stained glass a light spritz of shimmer spray. I also inked the embossing folder with white ink. It doesn't show as well as I had hoped on this light gray but it does give it a little more dimension.

Tulips and Butterflies
I used a variety of tone on tone patterns for the tulips and the banner.
