I purged ruthlessly over the summer. One of the things that I decreased by easily 90% was my ribbon collection. It was massive and, sadly, I never used any of it. I've been in a twine mood lately. (If I ever go back to a ribbon mood, I'm in trouble because it is all gone!) But I did hang on to five colored rolls of ribbon that I bought ages ago from A Muse. I knew as soon as I saw this sketch that I would use three colors of the ribbon, then it was a simple matter to see the soft look of this card and pull out an Avery Elle set that is full of gentle creatures.
- Stamps: Avery Elle More Stories (the rabbit), To the Point (sentiment)
- Paper: Kraft and various colors from an old pad of Glitz and Glam Core'dinations
- Ink: Memento Black and Copics
- Accessories: Avery Elle Finished Frames die (the stars), Stampin' Up embossing folder (the stripes),
Wow, what a lovely touch those ribbons add!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card!
These ribbons are sweet and look adorable on your card! And the stars aligned perfectly :) Adorable card!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could diminish all my never-used-stash like you did with the ribbons. My crafty heart would probably break into a million pieces, ha, ha.
ReplyDeleteYour card, oh my, it's so adorable and sweet! The little sketched star is just perfect, the little rabbit utterly sweet, love the dimension you added with the several embossingfolders!
The textures add so much, without drawing away the attention of the little scene you created.
The ribbons are subtle, love the effect it has.
But I was curious, what embossingfolder did you use on the white cardstock? It's so elegant!
Bye,
Marjolein
Oh so darn cute!!
ReplyDeleteMy ribbon stash is incredibly teensy, which is just as well, given that ribbons and I are not compatible (I'm all thumbs with bows and knots). Your card here reminds me how lovely and effective 'simple' ribbons can be, as this card is fabulous. I want to sit next to the bunny and make a wish, too...

I love how you've used those pretty ribbons for this sketch. All of the elements you've used work together to make such a sweet and pretty card.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how our crafting styles shift and change. I've got tons of ribbon that I haven't so much as looked at in ages. I should get rid of them but I'm afraid to :) Nice choice to keep this pretty organdy ribbon. It's subtle and colorful all at the same time and perfect for your little bunny!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim
ReplyDeleteFabulous card.... Always stunner... Thanks for all your inspiration....

I love that Avery Elle set. I need to get it (and the first one), but somehow it's always out of stock at SSS! Anyway, onto your gorgeous card. It's so beautiful and soft and the ribbon is the perfect touch.
ReplyDeleteThose soft, sheer ribbons are perfect with the lovely colour combo, Kim ... such a sweet card! Anita :)
ReplyDeleteLove this little bunny and your awesome card. If you ever have need of ribbon, just let me know. I have enough for both of us!
ReplyDeleteToo cute! LOVE that little bunny mixed with the cute sentiment and stars!
ReplyDeleteOh my! I wish I could be as ruthless! I keep buying ribbon!!! But ... I do use a lot on my cards! These ribbons are sooo pretty ... I can understand why you couldn't part with them! Love your design ... so sweet! Hugs xxx
ReplyDeleteThis card is amazing! Love how you used the ribbons for the horizontal panel! Absolutely adorable card!
ReplyDeleteThis is why I don't like to purge! I will inevitably want to use what I got rid of the moment it is gone. ;) Glad you held onto these, because they add the perfect soft touch to your card. Love all the texture! :)
ReplyDeleteI really like the way you echoed the colors and sparkle of the ribbons in the stars. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteThis is so sweet. I love the little bunny.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm totally ignoring that purging ribbon part. *shudder*
