CASology Cue Card: School

I have to admit - I wasn't feeling overly inspired over this week's CASology Cue Card: School, but I haven't missed a week yet and I wanted to keep it going - OK, this is only week 6, but that's a long streak for me for challenges.

I wandered into Michaels yesterday for some basics and found a fun school set in the clearance section.  I absolutely did not need another school set - but the simple fact is that what I have is "cute" and with teen boys, "cute" does NOT work.

CASology: School

Sadly, this is already too decorated for my boys.

{If I only had the creativity of Suze Bain who interpreted "school" as a "school of fish" - LOVE it!!}

  • Stamps: Recollections (Michaels brand) School Days (but I only paid a buck for it so it may be hard to find!)
  • Paper: black and white
  • Ink: black
  • Accessories: Love My Tapes Polka Dots Black, Queen and Co. Trendy Tape (striped), My Favorite Things border, misc. star brad

  3. Well, darn, but I sure like it!! I think it is an amazing card. Could you blacken over the lettering or paper piece the backpack to their satisfaction? They gotta like the rest of it!!

  8. Oh thanks Kim - I really thought I might be thrown out for that one! What a super backpack stamp, makes a great teen card - I guess it's that teeny tiny bit of colour that just pushes it over the edge for your boys! Lol! xx

  12. That is a really fun stamp! I agree with you that it is perfect for teenagers, as "cute" really loses it's luster with them sometimes. Lol! The pop of color on the tape is a fun touch. :)

  16. What a brilliant card! If I had to own one school stamp, that would be the one! I like the composition of the card, with the washi tape, and the spiral binding down the side.

  17. Hi Kim, I thought your design was very boyish. Love the backpack and torn page look. I'm always on the look out for good tween/teen boy cards cos they are so difficult. x
