When I saw Cécile's sketch, I knew these fish would be the frame. Then I was looking for a completely different sentiment and the "wish big" jumped out at me and tickled my funny bone. When he got home from a full day of fishing last night, he didn't tell me about the drive or the weather or the company - but he did catch a 20" brown (whatever that means!)
This weekend, we are starting a 10-day vacation. We're trying to sell each other on options for retirement. Where we are going ticks a lot of boxes for both of us. He'd be close to fishing and there are quaint towns and lots of outdoor/bicycling options for me. However, I'm not going to mention where we are going. I don't want to offend anybody since my answer to this area is most likely a big "no". It's the weather. We ran into a chatty stranger a few weeks ago and she was originally from where we are going and she told me "Oh honey, he's taking you there for the one good week of weather all year long." We'll see!
I hope to see you playing along with us this week at Freshly Made Sketches.

Haha, that would be like my husband having a seat in MY craft room too! I have to say, this is one of the cleverest cards I've seen in a while! SO fun and creative! Love it all!
ReplyDeleteI'm telling you he's right, Kim! Such a wonderful relaxing hobby to have! By the way, that 'big Brown' was no doubt a mighty good meal if he didn't put him back to catch another day!
ReplyDeleteBut if a girl won't fish, she sure can make darling fishy cards!

I can't say enough about your choice of elements for this card design. Wow you hit the mark in a big way. Since seeing your card layout I've been looking at some of my dies and stamps in a different light. Thanks for inspiring and hope you have a great holiday.
ReplyDeleteThe fish make a fabulous frame! Love it! But real life fishing.....ummm never!
ReplyDeleteThis is so clever and such a great take on the sketch! I hope you get the right retirement option for each of you.
ReplyDeleteI'm not into fishing at all Kim, but I do love the way you used those fishy diecuts to frame your sentiment - fabulous!
