Freshly Made Sketches: Happy Days and Butterflies

It's time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Today we have a sketch by Judy and here’s what I did with it!

Happy Days and Butterflies

As I was flipping through my stash hoping for inspiration, I hit upon these butterflies fairly quickly.  Then I decided to give them three fields of flowers and I had these gorgeous patterns from The Rabbit Hole.

The sentiment was a bit more of a struggle. I thought this was coming together perfectly for a retirement card I need in the next few months. The future retiree is all about her garden. But I needed a vertical sentiment and the word "retirement" is a long horizontal word. When I found this sentiment, I thought I was on to something - after all, retirement should be happy and joyful. I figured I could put a retirement sentiment on the inside. I'm having second thoughts now that I'm typing this - the sentiment feels wedding-ish. What do you think??

  1. What a great sketch and what a great job you've done with it! Super pretty!

  2. I'm retired and the sentiment on the front is spot on! Beautiful card - I'm sure the recipient will love it!

  3. Kim, this is gorgeous!!!! And I think the sentiment works perfectly for retirement!!!!

  4. This card is just so pretty Kim! I love those gorgeous butterflies and delicate patterned paper! So sweet!

  5. I didn't think this was a wedding-ish sentiment before reading your post, so I think that this is perfect for a retirement and if you put a retirement sentiment inside, they'll know for sure they're not getting married LOL.

Thank you for taking the time to comment on my card! I do get spam comments so your comment will be held until I read it and release it!
