The Card Concept: Happy Mother's Day

There’s a new inspiration challenge at The Card Concept and the theme is Happy Mother's Day.

4.28.21 Card Concept

That tablescape is gorgeous!  Sadly, my family is lucky if we even eat at the table!!  Although we definitely do for holidays and family events.  I have seasonal placemats, salt and pepper shakers and I even have trios of wine bottles with little sparkly LED lights in them - and I trade those out for bottles with seasonal labels or colors!

My Clean and Layered card took inspiration from the flower colors but what really caught my eye was the drama of the rich blue. The blue on my card is a different blue, but without the inspiration I would never have thought to pair that blue with the softly colored flowers.  I LOVE the contrast!

The dies are Craft a Flower: Cosmos from Altenew.  Aren't they amazing?  Altenew has so many layering flower dies and I've mostly avoided going totally broke on them - but the Cosmos found their way into my stash.  I love their graceful shapes.  There are two different shaped flowers although it's a little hard to tell on my card since my layering covered up most of the difference.

I hope to see you playing along with us at The Card Concept - I look forward to seeing how you are inspired!

  1. I like those pretty layered flowers and the colors you chose. Wonderful card, Kim!

  2. Absolutely gorgeous, Kim! I don't have any of Altenew's layering florals yet, but the temptation sure is strong, especially after seeing this stunning creation of yours!

  3. This card is absolutely GORGEOUS, Kim!!! And I agree...the blue looks fantastic!!! Those layered flowers are stunning---I haven't bought any of those...yet...ha! But the Cosmos look like a good set to start with ;) I also love the embossed bricks in the background!

  4. Beautiful card, Kim. So special for Mother's Day. At first I thought the die was a Tim Holtz for I've been loving his floral lately. I know what you mean by going broke with Altenew's products!

  5. What a stunning design, Kim. I'm totally awed by the fabulous dimension you created layering those beautiful flowers.

  6. I cannot express how much I love this card! The colours, the dies the texture - every single thing is perfect!

  7. Thank you for inspiring me to take out this die set and use it once again. I love the colors and the background you chose. Really nice creation!
