It's time for a new sketch at
Freshly Made Sketches and it's my week to bring you the sketch!! I'm not sure I could have gone much simpler.
I did have an ulterior motive for this one - I knew exactly what I was going to do before I ever created the sketch!!
These Nordic dies were sitting on my desk and seemed to layer perfectly. Obviously I wanted the sketch to be more broad - so I drew the rectangle and circle, then used a flower and a bird!!
The sentiment isn't the right fit from a design perspective. It needs to be a bit bolder so that it holds its own with the dies. But it is the right fit for the person who will be receiving this card. I know it's a little small to read...
Eventually all the pieces will fall into place.
Until then, laugh at the confusion, live for the moment & know that
everything happens for a reason.
I am very much looking forward to seeing what each of you does with this sketch. What shapes will you be using???

This is so serene and pretty, Kim! I had to laugh that you knew what you were going to do before you made the sketch because I often think that same thing and then when the sketch actually comes up I have absolutely no recollection of what that was. Great sketch!
ReplyDeleteI am in love with his card! My favorite shade of blue with white.....perfect! And oh those diecuts....love them.....and it all led to a great sketch!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and classy!
ReplyDeleteJust lovely! Jo x
ReplyDeleteThis is delicate and lovely!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely card, Kim. I do think the verse you stamped is just the right font and size. If you had used something bolder, I think it would have wound up competing with the die cuts (IMHO.)
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing!! I LOVE the blue and that way you used the die cuts on this. Stunning!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a gorgeous card Kim! I just love those diecuts! They're so beautiful! The white looks so elegant against the blue - very Wedgewood!!!
ReplyDeleteThese colors work perfectly with your Nordic themed card, Kim! So striking and such a wonderful sketch you gave us.
