Fresh Squeezed Stamps: K-I-S-S-I-N-G

It's my day to post over on the Fresh Squeezed Stamps blog and even though I repeatedly say I don't do a lot of Valentines - there was a perfect stamp for my husband in the new set Love Signs .  The set has such a good mix of feminine and masculine, and funky to traditional.  My husband and I are both old enough to fondly remember playground games and jump ropes and sing-song chants, so this will be perfect!

Sitting in a Tree

I did have my husband in mind during the entire process with the embossed trees, the neutral frame and natural twine bow.  I may have to figure out a way to remove the sequins because I think that's a bit too much for him!  Does everybody else have to deal with husbands who think every card has "too much bling"??!  I'm hoping this fun woodgrain heart will balance out the bling!

I used the current sketch at Seize the Sketch.

  3. I think he will love all the natural elements you used to make this card masculine, Kims! Even the heart bling is minimal and perfect because they represent the kisses floating up from the tree where you are sitting with him!! Enjoy the weekend! Hugs, Darnell

  5. Great card!! You always have the perfect amount of elements, and a beautiful way of setting them on the card. Even the heart at a slight tilt is something I wouldn't have thought of but it looks fabulous to me! I hope your husband likes it, with or without the 'bling'. :-) (I LOVE those heart sequins!)

  7. Ha, ha,, well I guess your husband isn't the only one!
Maybe you should try a bottlecap of his favourite beerbottle as an embellishment?
Or try a piece of embossed tin/ can, from his favourite sodadrink....
I like to use metal scraps like that as an embellishement for men!
Well your card is perfect, love the trees!!!Love the sentiment, ha, ha, great fun! I bet he doesn't mind sitting in a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G you! :-)
And those arrows on the DP are perfect.
You let us know what his reaction will be after he's received this card???
    Bye,

  15. A perfect meshing of images here, Kim - one your husband will certainly appreciate (although I like Shannon's comment about adding more 'bling' just because. She's too funny!). I have the tree embossing folder, and your use of it here: inspiration, plus! Fabulous card!!
