Try Stampin' On Tuesday: Thanks So Much!

I have recently discovered the sketches over at Try Stampin' On Tuesday.  I raved about them so much, I think they felt obligated to ask me to be a guest designer!!??  I'm on their blog today!!  Here's the card that I put together with their sketch...

Thanks so much!
I had a very specific need for this card.  We have had an intern pastor at our church for the last year.  She is a wonderful woman who not only has the calling to go through seminary and internships, but is also unexpectedly raising her 2-year old granddaughter.  She has handled it all with graciousness and faith.  This next weekend is her last weekend and I want to thank her.  The plan for this card was a little sentiment in the bottom right (as in the sketch), that said something like "you will be missed".  Do I have a stamp like that in my extensive collection?  Nope.  Lots of  "I miss you's", but she hasn't left yet, so I don't miss her yet!!  There seems to be a gap in my stamp collection that I am just going to HAVE to shop for!
  • Stamps: Stampin' Up Papillon Potpourri, Watercolor Trio (sentiment)
  • Paper: Stampin' Up Crumb Cake, Midnight Muse, Cajun Craze, Very Vanilla
  • Ink: Stampin' Up Midnight Muse, Summer Starfruit
  • Accessories: Stampin' Up Butterfly Punch, gems colored with Copics, My Minds Eye Indie Chic twine, Quickutz die (it just says "C-0163-FRAME" on it - that will make it tough to find if you want it - sorry!)

TAWS: I beLONG with U!

It's my day to post over at The Alley Way Stamps (TAWS).  Two of this month's new releases are fun circus-themed sets.  I decided to use the giraffe for an anniversary card!!??  I think it works!!

I beLONG with U

I am  hoping you can tell that the embossing folder (which is a cheap Hobby Lobby brand folder) is supposed to be a circus cage and that the big buttons are the wheels.  Of course, if I am feeling the need to explain this to you, it's probably not as obvious as I might hope!!

The giraffe comes from TAWS Party Animals along with the word "long".  One of the fun things about their stamps is that they have a few main word sets, then the themed sets come with add-in words that are appropriate - in this case the word "long".  So I pulled the other words from other sets, tucked in "long" and had my anniversary sentiment.

  • Stamps: The Alley Way Stamps Party Animal, Jibber Jabber (be), Chatterbox (with), Alphabet Soup (I and U)
  • Paper: Stampin' Up Kiwi Kiss (long retired), Bermuda Bay (retired)
  • Ink: Memento black and copics
  • Accessories: Hobby Lobby embossing folder, Prima wood buttons, heart punch, Stampin' Up Kiwi Kiss ribbon

It's Bold and Sassy Week at Dynamic Duos!

It's Bold and Sassy Week at Dynamic Duos - the colors are Pumpkin Pie and Wild Wasabi.  I knew right away what I wanted to do and I fought the urge for a week.  After all, what would be more expected than pumpkins??  But as I watched what the other design team members were coming up with - they were all being so creative with these colors - at the point I made my card, there weren't any pumpkins!!  It made me feel more unique and creative than I really am!?  So, here's my Halloween card!!

Trick or Treat

Check out all of the other designers, create a card using the Dynamic Duos colors and link it up.  We love to be inspired by YOU!

I also used this week's sketch from The Pink Elephant which is another new-to-me challenge.  I think it's worth watching their blog just to see this darling elephant icon from week to week...

  • Stamps: Papertrey Ink Tag-Its #7
  • Paper: Stampin' Up Pumpkin Pie CS and dsp, Wild Wasabi CS
  • Ink: Stampin' Up Wild Wasabi, Memento black and copics

BE Inspired #8 by The Alley Way Stamps

The Alley Way Stamps (TAWS) has an inspirational challenge every other Friday.  This is the Friday - and THIS is the inspiration photo...

I took inspiration from the carnival/fair idea - but also from the circles - a main circle slightly tilted and a variety of circles within the picture.  I used the absolutely darling lion from the newly released Party Animals. Any card would look cute with that little face!!

Party Animal

  • Stamps: The Alley Way Stamps Party Animal and Admit One
  • Ink: Stampin' Up Poppy Parade, Bermuda Bay, Memento black and copics (see my sidebar for a Copic chart of matches for Stampin' Up and Papertrey colors)
  • Paper: Stampin' Up Poppy Parade
  • Accessories: Papertrey Ink Impression Plate and ribbon, Nestabilities circle and inverted scallop die, McGill tag punch
