Freshly Made Sketches: Silhouette Sympathy

It's time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and it was my turn to design it!

When I put this sketch together, I knew exactly what I was going to do.  It was supposed to be a birthday card with one of the crazy cats by Tim Holtz sitting on a piece of balloon-patterned paper looking at the birthday sentiment.  I could see it perfectly in my mind's eye.  After trying multiple cats from the stamp set and multiple papers and multiple sentiments, I gave up trying to convert my mental image to paper.

But I think the failure was meant to be.  In the midst of my attempts, one of my co-workers lost her mother and I needed a sympathy card. This card came together in minutes and I think it's just right.

FMS 270 Sympathy

I hope you enjoy the sketch and I look forward to seeing what you create!

SUPPLY LIST

The patterned paper is older - I found one place to link to but it may not be there long!

  1. Beautiful sympathy card, Kim. I have bits and bobs of this pad of paper left, and it has been one of my favorites. Those yellows and blues, combined with a little black are perfect here. I'm sure your co-worker will appreciate this lovely and comforting card very much. It's beautiful. Bev

  17. Hi Kim, your sympathy card is absolutely gorgeous! I was inspired to CASE your card to make a pet themed memorial thank you card for Sending Paw Prints.

Sending Paw Prints supports our furry friends by collecting blank pet themed thank you handmade cards and donating them to animal shelters and rescue groups for them to write heartfelt thank you messages to donors, foster parents and volunteers.

Occasionally animal shelters and rescue groups receive donations made “in memory of” or “in honor of” a pet, loved one, family member or friend. For this occasion they like to send a blank pet themed memorial handmade card with a thank you sentiment or no sentiment.

    Thank you for the inspiration!
