TE Sneak Peek Day 2: The Nativity and Woodgrain

It's the second day of sneak peeks for the October release from Taylored Expressions!! It's the most wonderful time of the year - this release is all about Christmas!!  Yesterday was fun; today focuses on rustic elegance and on the Christian-side of the holiday.

One of the many reasons that I love working with Taylored Expressions is their array of Christian-themed products and this release is no different - Little Bits-Nativity, Little Bits-North Star and Joy Script (also new are 'peace' and 'noel' - I love word dies!)

TE Nativity Scene

On a base of Sugar Cube cardstock, I brushed on some ground in Toffee, a sunrise/set in Lemon Meringue and sky in Salt Water Taffy.  After I brushed it on, I used the new Stitched Oval Stacklets to cut out an oval frame which I popped up just using a couple of pieces of cardstock. This frames my little nativity scene.

The nativity actually comes with its own little star, but I wanted it bigger as it needed to fill in the upper part of the card so I used the new Little Bits-North Star. This was a quick and easy card so I actually made five of them to make a dent on my Christmas card list - I may go back and make more as the holiday gets closer!

There's another sneak peek after this supply list - keep reading!

Before I move on to some wonderful stamps that I used to create a warm and rustic card - let me tell you about release week prizes.

Taylored Expressions is celebrating Release Week with some fabulous giveaways.  Visit the TE Blog to answer Taylor's Question of the Day for a chance to win the prize from the latest release!

There's a new background stamp with this release - Woodgrain Background. Be still my heart!  I think I could put woodgrain behind everything!  The other excitement is Holiday Florals and its coordinating die set.  (In previous releases, we've had Fresh Florals and Fall Florals - LOVE them all!)  This set adds poinsettias and pears and pine cones and holly and more!

TE Woodgrain and Holiday Florals

I used another of the new word dies - Noel Script - to add the sentiment behind my rustic grouping of "florals".  I used dots of Stickles on the blue berries and then glossy accents and a sprinkling of glitter on the golden holly berries.  Then just a few of the sequins from the new Snow Flurries Sequins Mix.

Be sure to check out all of the other designers starting on the Taylored Expressions blog because there is just too much for one designer to show off in just a few days.  All of the products that I have used are linked at the bottom of this post, but remember that new products aren't available until Thursday, October 6th, 7 a.m. PST.
