Fortunately for my family, we live high above the Denver area on the east side, away from the mountains. It is very, very wet here but absolutely no danger. In fact, if I didn't have the news on all day, it would be incredibly pleasant at my house as it has finally cooled off and I love the sound of the rain. (My kids - being selfish teenagers - are just disappointed that there is school today because many major school districts have closed.) Thank you for all of your words of concern.
I don't think that I have ever made a "new home" card, but I have dear friend who is making a major and fairly life-altering move. I wanted to send her my love and best wishes and saw that I actually had the perfect stamp! I recently organized all of my dies and remembered that I had a small rainbow so this card came together exactly as I had hoped.
The only thing that I spent a little time struggling with is the three-color rainbow, but the challenge at Stamping Royalty gave me exactly the fresh and cheerful look that I had wanted.
- Stamps: Impression Obsession (I have this in a single wood stamp, but I don't see it on their site anymore. They do have the sentiment in a clear set here. The font is slightly different.)
- Paper: Stampin' Up Tangerine Tango, So Saffron, Soft Sky
- Ink: Black
- Accessories: Lil' Inkers Stitched Rectangles and Rainbow/Clouds die set, Papertrey Ink Love Lives Here die, clear sequins - Clearly Beloved 5mm at Simon Says Stamp
The news about the flooding reminded me of the spring floods up in the Calgary area...very scary! Glad to hear you're out of the danger zone. And speaking of zones... you are in the zone when it comes to this card! I love it. You're right, those colors are perfect for your little rainbow! Great card. Have a fun weekend. Bev
ReplyDeleteOh Kim, news of the flooding is horrible. I am not sure what Mother Nature is thinking anymore. Glad to hear your are safe. Your card with the glitter rainbow is gorgeous. Your friend will love it.
ReplyDeletethis crazy rain.. glad you all are not being flooded out.. It is sad for all those who have to vacate.
ReplyDeleteYour card is stunning.. love that rainbow..
I'm so glad you are okay, but I feel terrible for those affected. Nature is definitely dealing some strange cards these days...hope the rain goes away soon and is replaced by a beautiful rainbow - just like the one on your card. Gah! It is awesome!!! It is perfection!!! What a sweet card to send to your friend!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card, Kim! Love that sparkly rainbow---the colors are just perfect!!! And what a beautiful sentiment! Glad to hear you and your family are safe!! I am safe here on high ground as well. However, it's a good thing I don't need to go anywhere---my canyon road is closed and the canyons north and south of me are closed due to rock slides and flooding. Would be a mighty long detour to get into town. My husband is flying back from a business trip tonight---will be tricky finding a route from the airport to the house.
ReplyDeleteI've been following the news of the floods in your area, having experienced the torrential downpour and resulting destruction in our town in June. Even now, much construction is underway to restore buildings and roads; so many families still remain displaced. So, so glad that you're safe! To all those affected - my heart goes out to them!
ReplyDeleteYour card is perfect for your friend: beautiful images and a heart-warming sentiment. It will be cherished! A special thank you for noticing my Boo Crew win - but it's all because of you, for having introduced me to Newton's Nooks. Such cute images - and your Boo Crew showcase was awesome! Excited to play once they arrive!
