Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek 2: Tulips and a Garden

It's day 2 of sneak peeks for the February release from Taylored Expressions!!  This release is all about spring, St. Patrick's Day and Easter. Today I have a bouquet of tulips and a beautiful garden scene.

Be sure to check out all of the other designers starting on the Taylored Expressions blog because there is just too much for one designer to show off in just a few days.

All the products that I have used are linked at the bottom, but remember that new products aren't live until Thursday, February 4, 7 a.m. PST.

I have two cards today - both sweet and gentle - although these products could easily go bright and cheerful too! The first is Spring Tulips. The stamp set is from a previous release, but now there's a coordinating die which gives the option of adding dimension or of placing these tulips on patterned paper.

I pulled out the Apothecary Shelf and die. It's a fairly long shelf so I only added part of it so that it fit cleanly on a vertical card. I stamped it on a woodgrain pattern and then added some shadowing. I finished the scene with some bead board embossing and patterned wallpaper. I wanted something hanging on the wall next to the tulips so used the smallest die from Label Stacklets 7 and a sentiment from Faith in Bloom

Another sweet addition with this release is the In the Garden die. I used the entire die across the card.  Added some embossed rays of sunshine, some sequin sun spots and a wonderful sentiment from Shade Tree Scripture.

I could see this die as a silhouette on a bright sunrise. Or you could use parts of the die. As you hop through all of the designers, you'll see that one used just the tree and bicycle - it's a great look!

I also used some tiny sequins which hopefully look like little sun spots, and a piece of narrow black and white gingham ribbon.

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek 1: Happy Trails & Lucky Lives

It's day 1 of sneak peeks for the February release from Taylored Expressions!!  This release is all about spring, St. Patrick's Day and Easter. Today I am focusing on Easter set that also has great options for use throughout the year and I'm "lucky"!

Be sure to check out all of the other designers starting on the Taylored Expressions blog because there is just too much for one designer to show off in just a few days.

All the products that I have used are linked at the bottom, but remember that new products aren't live until Thursday, February 4, 7 a.m. PST.

This card uses the new Bunny Tails & Happy Trails. It's a wonderfully designed set in that it has Easter images and sentiments, but also general images and sentiments so it can be used year-round. I went for the general image (although I'll definitely pull out the bunny in an egg car and the chick in a carrot car for my Easter cards!)

I pulled out the Build a Scene - On the Road die and some cheerful paper from the Build a Scene Paper Pack and that's all this took.  For the right person, this image and sentiment will bring a huge smile when it's most needed!

I also used this next product in a different way - it's the Block Party - Lucky die. Given the time of year it is, this would be perfect for St. Patrick's Day. Taylored Expressions already has a variety of St. Patrick's Day images and sentiments (with even more this release) and dies such as shamrocks and leprechauns and pots of gold. But I have a long-standing love affair with the Potty People and decided to use the Lucky die for a love card!

The bottom line is part of another stamp - also called Lucky. I just inked the bottom line and added it below the die cut.  I love those Potty People - I hadn't yet used the cat and dog but they are really sweet and perfectly rounded out my little scene.

As always with Taylored Expressions, it's a fun release. There are stamps and dies, cute to elegant, goofy to Christian - I LOVE it!  Be sure to check out all of the other designers listed on the TE blog and leave a comment while you are there for a chance to win prizes. Come back tomorrow for more sneak peeks.

I used a scrap of brick patterned paper - sorry that I can't tell you what it is!

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Sachet

It's time for a new challenge at the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Sachet

SO much inspiration to be had - hearts, sweet patterns, scallops, wood panelling - I used it all in one card!

CC Sachet

I started looking through my stash one thing at a time. Heart dies...here's a fun one with stitching and scallops and even better - it was in my Never-Before-Used-Stash!!  Patterns.  This is an older paper pad, but it has a fun pattern that would fit perfectly in those little sachets and it has a matching woodgrain pattern!  I had a bit of a false start on the border. I originally tried a straight border panel with a variety of die cut stitches on it. It just looked too....straight!!  Then I remember, in my NBUS stash - these curved, scalloped borders!!  This had to be one of the quickest and easiest cards for me in recent memory - the joy of having a large (way-too-big) stash!!

I hope to see you playing along!!  Be sure to check out the other designers on the Curtain Call blog (including our special guest - Tricia Traxler at Simply Stamping) because you will be absolutely amazed at the variety of inspiration from this one picture!

The paper is from an older 6x6 pad - My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline Dolled Up. The enamel dots are from the MME Lost & Found Record It collection.
