Freshly Made Sketches: You Got This

It's time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Today we have a sketch by Narelle!!

This sketch saved me this week.  I had 10 minutes to make a card and I did it with the help of the sketch.  You have to understand - I am not a 10 minute cardmaker.  I could use one die and one sentiment and by the time I picked colors and layout and then re-did that a dozen times - it's at least an hour.  To even attempt a 10-minute card, I need a starting point and a sketch from FMS is the perfect place to start!

FMS Got This

My son had his first job interview one afternoon.  I was getting ready for work and realized it would be somewhat shameful to not make him a card of encouragement given I make cards for everybody else in my life.  I had a new set from Simon Says Stamp full of fun, encouraging sentiments so I started there. With the sketch, I thought to add this star from Taylored Expressions.  And then I just happened to have my box of Distress Oxide inks open on my desk.  (It's funny how 10 minutes forces you to let go of control and just start applying ink!)

The stamp set has a number of hashtag sentiments - but this one didn't have one.  I wanted it - so I thought briefly about masking another one to get the hashtag - but that seemed bigger than the 10 minutes that I had.  So I found an old die (from a long gone company) with the hashtag - I like the black!!

My son was very excited about how his interview went - but didn't get the job :(  I'm  hoping he's inspired to keep interviewing

  4. Great story about how this card came to be in such a short time and such a fabulous card. So cheerful and encouraging. I'm definitely not a 10-minute card-maker - I second-guess everything!
