I have to admit to many false starts with this challenge. I'm not sure why - what better than silver and gold for Christmas? I tried starry backgrounds, but I thought they overwhelmed the image. I tried ornaments, but just couldn't put together a layout that I liked. Sometimes it amazes how the creative process works, because I was browsing my Christmas sentiments for inspiration - saw this one - remembered the snowflake dies from the same company - saw my cat unrolling an entire roll of Lost Lagoon ribbon - and the light bulb came on! It was done in about ten minutes.

Merry Monday: Baby It's Cold Outside
I am thrilled to be this week's guest designer at Merry Monday!! They liked my card last week. I felt just a little bit guilty, because the card was all about the lovely script stamp - check it out and you'll see what I mean. It's kind of hard to go wrong with that stamp, isn't it? But I happily agreed anyway. This week's challenge is to use silver, gold and white plus one other color.

The top tag layer is vellum and it's soft and lovely in real life. I stamped the sentiment in regular dye and then quickly applied clear embossing powder for a little shine. I'd love to have a close-up picture for you, but in the midst of all the other headaches leading up to this card, I dropped my camera and broke the lens. So my pictures right now are being taken with a 15-year old compact camera with very limited capabilities!! In general, I think the camera did quite well as I typically have blurring issues when I have glitter or sparkle.
I haven't heard a single cardmaker say they were ready for Christmas - so I DO hope you play along with this week's challenge! (If you are ready - start your stash for next year!)
SUPPLY LIST:
The sparkly paper comes from Michaels. I stumbled on it just recently and love it. It's sparkly but not big chunks of glitter so it's fairly smooth - lots of colors and even some subtle patterns. The silver cord is retired from Stampin' Up.
