I am using one of my newer sets that hadn't yet seen ink. The butterfly in the Stampin' Up set Strength and Hope is truly gorgeous.
Now I am off to do some trigonometry??!! Isn't it just amazing what we do for our children? My 15-year old has never had a problem with math - he takes Honors and A/P classes. But trigonometry stopped him in his tracks. So, being "mean" parents, we found an on-line course for him to do over the summer. Just in case he still didn't get it, I'm doing the course along with him (due to my math major and a career as an actuary). Of course, my major was LONG ago - it's easiest to measure as a certain unmentionable percentage of a century!!?? My husband was elected to read a book along with him on the Constitution that was assigned as summer reading. My husband's task is to help Andrew learn how to take notes. Andrew's idea of taking notes is to spew back EVERYTHING he just read. So they are both taking notes on each chapter, then comparing in hopes that Andrew starts to learn how to pick out the major points. My husband and I are back in school!

ReplyDeleteOooooh! I love your card. Thanks for joining us at ColorLab.
ReplyDeleteI remember the days of homework with the kids...yes, even in the summer. It's helps keep them sharp and ready for the next year. (okay, even I learned something!) Of course, I was going to college and taking things like statistics when two of mine were in high school, so at least I didn't have to learn how to study/take notes all over again!
ReplyDeleteLovely card...beautiful butterfly!
Fabulous card, Kim! A perfect CAS card! This is one of my favorite sets simply because of this beautiful butterfly. Thanks for joining us at the Paper Players. My son, Brady, is taking two college classes on-line this summer to keep him focused. They are statistics, which I LOVED when I took it a century ago, and a World Geography class. From where did all of these new countries come??? LOL
ReplyDeleteTrigonometry stopped me in my tracks, too. I hope it goes well for your son by taking the summer class. :) Your card is beautiful! Love the embossing and the tiny punched detail on the tag. Perfectly CAS! Thanks so much for joining the Paper Players this week! :)
ReplyDeleteLove it...that little tag is just perfect. Have fun in school! Algebra I ADORED; hated geometry, trig was okay, but it's been way more than that unmentionable portion of a century for me....I'd have to start all over from square one. All I remember is "Little Turtles Run Backward", meaning you use the left numbers with the top of the chart and the right numbers with the bottom of the chart. Couldn't even tell you what chart it was....sine, cosine, it's all a blur to me!
ReplyDeleteThis is stunning Kim. The subtle texture of your background is just wonderful. Good luck with your studies! I remember when I took trig there were no graphing calculators - we had to draw all our own graphs! Ugh!
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining us at the ColorLab this week! :)
Oh my gosh Kim! I love how you've cut out the center sections for a reversed matting effect! So cool! Gorgeous color combination and I love the butterfly!! So glad you've joined us at The Paper Players this week!! :-)
ReplyDeleteSO pretty Kim! Love the little sentiment and the colours are awesome! Have fun back at school!
ReplyDeleteSmiles,
Lesley (PP DT)
You're right - that butterfly really is gorgeous, especially in that rich colour.
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool how you're helping out your boys with their studies this summer! What a clever way to do it - even if it means you and hubby "going back to school". :) You are clearly awesome parents. :)
This is stunning Kim! The subtly embossed border showcases the butterfly beautifully. Have fun with the trig & note taking. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Kim! Perfect combination of colors and sketch! Thanks for playing along with us at the ColorLab!!
ReplyDeleteI thought I had been keeping up okay ... but obviously it has been a few days since I popped by! This is so sweet. And ... I hope the maths lesson went well. Hugs xxaxx
