Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Fluff

It's time for a new challenge at the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Fluff.

I thought felt would be a good for a "fluff" challenge!  And then I went with squares like the pillows and a stitched background for a quilt.  Soft and simple!

Freshly Made Sketches: Could...Did!

It's time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Today we have a sketch by Rita.

My son came home on spring break last Friday just full of stories about his first year at college.  He and my husband spent hours talking about electrical circuits!!??  (My guys are scientists to the core.) Surprisingly, my son's favorite class is Composition - a required freshman course. I can't tell you how much he has hated English classes over the years, but this professor has really drawn him in. I think it's because this professor embodies everything the college experience should be, which in my opinion, is learning to think, form opinions and articulate your thoughts. In this class, there is respectful discussion with opposing opinions allowed and encouraged - as long as you can back up your ideas with sources.  (Interestingly this professor is a former journalist who quit the profession when he realized that even the respected journalistic outlets never backed their stories with sources. Explains a lot, doesn't it? On both sides!)

Even with all the good news, he is exceedingly worried about his calculus mid-term which the teaching assistant told him was designed to be failed. I find it hard to believe my math/science geek will fail - so I put together a card to send to him in a few weeks when the results are back.  Fingers crossed!!

FMS Did

I look forward to seeing what you create with this sketch - there's a wonderful wide-open space with fun details on the edges!  Enjoy!

Taylored Expressions Grouchy Grumplings 2

LOVE this guy!!  And the saying is too perfect!!  I brushed on a little blue for the sky and a little green for the ground. Then a big branch for that guy and a dark cloud over his head!

Taylored Expressions Grouchy Grumplings 2

This set is full of all of the charming grumpiness we've come to expect.  Parades are rained on. Chill pills are taken.  They are generally in a baaaaad mood!!

Here's the supply list for this card but be sure to keep reading for one more card!

Taylored Expressions Grouchy Grumplings 2

I wanted to do a bit more with the Sitting Pretty Accessories and Sitting Pretty frames that I used here on Monday.  The fun of this set are the groupings that you can do.  (If you haven't seen it, check out the inspiration for this set on the TE Blog.)  For this card, I used a frame and then a variety of pieces from Sitting Pretty Accessories.

Taylored Expressions Sitting Pretty

I had the general idea for the card with one word framed plus the "&". I looked through past sets and found the get well sentiment in Simply Succulents Stamp & Die Combo then found "hugs" as part of a sentiment in Love Always Wins Stamp & Die Combo.

I added the ledge and then grouped some of the other pieces from the accessories set.  I am in love with these sets of dies and see them as a foundation for many future cards!

Don't forget to head over to the TE Blog for links to all of the designers and to find out if you won a prize if you've been answering the Question of the Day. Then head to the TE Store because it's now open!!
