TE Sneak Peek Day 3: Grumplings and A Big Hello

It's day 3 of sneak peeks for the January release from Taylored Expressions!! We have new Grumplings - YAY!!  (I always wonder if it says something about my personality that I am always excited over new Grumplings.)  There's also a new edger die that works perfectly with a new Hello die.  Everything you see in the next four days of sneak peeks will be available on Thursday, January 12, 2017.  Be sure to check out each of the creative team members' blogs for all of the sneak peeks - starting with the Taylored Expressions blog.

So even if haven't related to all of the other Grumplings - there's no way you won't relate to this one - Exercise Grumpling!!  There are fabulous, and absolutely perfect sentiments, in this set - you have to be sure to check out the rest of the creative team to see them all.  I chose to use "diddly squats"!

TE Exercise Grumplings

The Grumpling in the chair? NOT in the Exercise set.  I got him out of Clocked Out Grumplings because he perfectly represents my first choice of activity - preferably with a good book and a glass of wine!

TE Exercise Grumplings

I was going for a cartoonish look for these guys.  I added some very light gray on their faces and on ears/arms/feet.  Then I picked a color from the scraps of patterned paper for just a pop of color on each of them. I picked a variety of sequins that would work from my stash - it was easy!!

Here's what's on this card - but be sure to keep reading for a chance at prizes and another sneak peek.

Before I share a peek at another new product, I'm excited to tell you that Taylored Expressions is celebrating Release Week with some fabulous giveaways! Visit the TE blog to answer Taylor's Question of the Day for a chance to win a prize from the latest release!

My next projects show off a new addition to the Edger collection - Let's Talk Edger 3.  I also hadn't used the just released set - The Birds & The Bees with their dies.  So I pulled out an itty-bitty bird to go with a great big speech bubble!

TE Let's Talk Edger 3

The "hello" is a new addition to the script words that have been coming out.  I LOVE the font that is used.

TE Let's Talk Edger

That big speech bubble edger is going to come in handy - oversize sentiments and big word dies certainly seem to be in - and this is a fabulous way to show them off!

Freshly Made Sketches: Silhouette Sympathy

It's time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and it was my turn to design it!

When I put this sketch together, I knew exactly what I was going to do.  It was supposed to be a birthday card with one of the crazy cats by Tim Holtz sitting on a piece of balloon-patterned paper looking at the birthday sentiment.  I could see it perfectly in my mind's eye.  After trying multiple cats from the stamp set and multiple papers and multiple sentiments, I gave up trying to convert my mental image to paper.

But I think the failure was meant to be.  In the midst of my attempts, one of my co-workers lost her mother and I needed a sympathy card. This card came together in minutes and I think it's just right.

I hope you enjoy the sketch and I look forward to seeing what you create!

The patterned paper is older - I found one place to link to but it may not be there long!

TE Sneak Peek Day 2: Unicorns and Rainbows

It's day 2 of sneak peeks for the January release from Taylored Expressions!! It's a magical day with with unicorns and rainbows (and if you check out the rest of the creative team you'll also see dragons!)  Everything you see in the next four days of sneak peeks will be available on Thursday, January 12, 2017.  Be sure to check out each of the creative team members' blogs for all of the sneak peeks - starting with the Taylored Expressions blog.

Isn't this unicorn sweet?  He's from the Dreamer Stamp & Die Combo. And there's another guy in the set too, plus three more sentiments!

TE Dreamer

I paired him with the new Stitched Cloud Duo.  (Is it possible to have too many cloud dies?)  I love stitching - it just finishes off the look.  To add even more dimension, I cut one through the card front and backed it with some Lavender Glaze cardstock to which I had applied glitter (or an sparkly embossing powder would work perfectly.)  There's also some sparkle on his horn.

Then I needed some place for him to be head to so I pulled out the previously released Little Bits - Castle.  I just used the turret from the set because the entire castle just didn't fit well in my layout.

TE Dreamer

LOVE the magic of this card!

My next projects shows off a wonderful new cutting plate - the Rainbow Cutting Plate.  It could be used with the Dreamers from above - or any of the other magic being shown off by the rest of the design team.  I decided to add a Christian quote from the previously released Be Still.

TE Rainbow Cutting Plate

I LOVE the stitched detail on each rainbow stripe.  I also used the new Cloud Nine Background.  I wanted something subtle on the white edges so I embossed the cloudy background with sparkly embossing powder.

TE Rainbow Cutting Plate

I love this rainbow.  It can go so many directions.  It could be subtle and become just an interesting background.  Or it can be bold and bright and be the focal point.

I hope you enjoyed today's sneak peeks!  Be sure to head over to the TE blog for links to the rest of the creative team and to enter the question of the day contest.
