Freshly Made Sketches: Epic Year

It's time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Today we have a sketch by Linda.

I have masculine birthday cards on the brain because both of my sons have birthdays in the weeks after Christmas.  In fact...my oldest son turns 21 today!!

FMS Epic Year

I started with him in mind and I was thinking electronics, but it really wasn't working out.  First of all, I think my idea of electronics only looks like electronics if you are a certain age (old) and remember images like this.  Lots of flashing lights.  Computers really don't do that anymore.

Second, I really needed something nasty and alcoholic on his card to celebrate(?) the fact that he is legal (although he is so not a drinker and that's not just an over-protective mom talking!).  Anyway - I ended up finding a simple sentiment for an "amazing kid" and will find a future use for my old-fashioned electronic card!!

I hope to see you playing along!

SUPPLY LIST

I did quite poorly using supplies that I could link to - sorry!  The sentiment is still available - it's from PTI Boy Basics: Game On. I don't see the border.  It was Simon Says Stamp Grid Border.  I even used old paper - Stampin' Up Poppy Parade for the red.  The blue is Pacific Point.  The silver is from Michaels.

  8. I'm think I can hear the beep-bop-boop of those old time computers right now! That picture looks like something out of Mystery Science Theater but I'm pretty sure it's the real deal! Your son might not appreciate the old electronics but I do! Fun card!
