Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek 2: Sweet and Classic

It's day 2 of sneak peeks for the December release from Taylored Expressions!!  Today we have more products for love and Valentines.  Today is fun because there are sweet and unique options, and also classic and elegant.

Be sure to check out all of the other designers starting on the Taylored Expressions blog because there is just too much for one designer to show off in just a few days.

All the products that I have used are linked at the bottom, but remember that new products aren't live until Thursday, December 10, 7 a.m. PST.

Taylored Expressions is celebrating Release Week with some fabulous giveaways! Visit the TE blog each Sneak Peek Day this week for details on how you can enter to win.

My first card uses the sweet set Stitch by Stitch which includes little cross-stitched images and coordinating sentiments. In years past, I was a counted cross-stitcher, but then children got in the way!  If you have ever cross-stitched you know what I mean. It's all about counting, and with children constantly interrupting, you lose count over and over again and it's quickly not worth it!  But I still love the pieces hanging on my wall, so this is a set that is close to my heart.

You could definitely use markers on the images in this set and get colored "stitched" images.  I opted for white embossing powder to mirror the paper in the background.

Also check out that Embroidery Hoop.  There's so much you could with that and I've not seen it anywhere else.  I did mine with cardstock from the Woodgrain Textured Cardstock Pack and I used gold from the Metallic Neutral Premium Cardstock for the hardware. Notice the cross-stitched detail along the edge of the circle - fun!!

That set is so sweet. In contrast, I have a card using the very elegant Simply Stamped - Roses.  Taylored Expressions has a number of these layering sets - zinnias, daisies, sunflowers and even pinecones.  The roses are an elegant addition.  (Also notice the new embossing folder - Paisley.)

TE Simply Stamped Roses

There are actually three different sized roses in the set. I've used the small and medium flowers. Beside the branch of leaves, there is also a long stem. The set isn't focused on Valentines - the sentiments in the set include birthday, hello, thanks and others, but I added a die cut from the previously released Pockets & Pages - February Script to make it a Valentine.

There's so much detail when you layer up the three stamps. My particular choices of red ink were fairly close but you can still see the petals and shadows.

These roses can be built up in so many colors - the color of a rose has such meaning - this is a very useful set beyond Valentine's Day!

  3. Both are gorgeous, but having a long time love for cross-stitching (until card-making appeared on the scene), means that your first card steals my heart! I have a sudden urge to go pick up some of my unfinished cross-stitch projects...Maybe I will, once I'm done with making Christmas cards (I know...so behind!)
