Viva la Verve: Thank U
I seem to have had pastel colors out a lot lately - and I am really not a pastel person. I just had to get a fix of rich, autumn colors. So when I decided to play along with this week's Viva la Verve sketch, I immediately went to these gorgeous colors!
If I had all the time in the world (and unlimited supplies) - I would find a smaller doily for the background. I can't tell you how much paper I wasted. Every doily or decorative circle die that I have was too small or too big - but being a very visual person, I had to cut each of them and try it on the card before I knew it was wrong! I closed in the space by adding some sequins, but I still feel like my poor little "U" is a little bit lost.

Love this! Such a cool card!
ReplyDeleteJust a delightful card, Kim! I saw the "U" right away, so it didn't get lost at all! Love the aqua against the vibrant yellow too. Great card. Bev
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, Kim!
ReplyDeleteOh I think I could get used to you and pastels! Love what you are soon with them!
ReplyDeleteVery nice card! Great job with the sketch!
ReplyDeleteLove the U (and the doily too)!
ReplyDeleteI think this card turned out super fun, and I think the doily size you picked looks great!
ReplyDeleteYou work magic with any and all colours, Kim - and these rich autumn colours are yet more evidence. I hear you with the 'try them on for size' episodes. I only have one doily, so once with that has to be 'good enough,' but talk to me about butterflies, and that's another story! Shapes, sizes - plenty of choices (although I'm always scouting out more...) - and yes, I do have a variety of them cut...waiting their turn! Your *U* stands out well on your card! Pretty, plus!!
