Now that I've made you feel sorry for her, let me tell you about the year that she had a baby early. She called me on that Wednesday morning to share her happy news, which was my worst nightmare as I had to sight-read the music for all of Holy H*** Week's services and rehearsals! Can you tell that I haven't quite forgiven her for that?
Sadly, I had plans today - she just called to tell me her son was home sick. But we rescheduled for Monday, right after Easter, with plans to drink heavily!
To top off her long week, it's also her birthday - and I wanted to create something bright and cheerful! I just got the Lean on Me set from Verve. I don't know why I waited this long - the flowers are so fun to color!
I'm also playing along with this week's Viva la Verve sketch.
- Stamps: Verve Lean on Me (flower), Birthday Surprise (sentiment)
- Paper: Stampin' Up Bermuda Bay, Papertrey Ink Aqua Mist CS and dsp
- Ink: Memento black and Copics
- Accessories: Verve Pointed Flower die, Stampin' Up tag punch, Memory Box Tender Leaves, Martha Stewart butterfly punch, Doodlebug sequins, Hemptique 10-lb white twine, Papertrey Ink Aqua Mist button
This is fabulous, Kim :) Love how you used the colours.
ReplyDeleteLOL....I know EXACTLY what you mean about Holy H*** week...although I don't do music, my team does other things this week and on top of it all, I realized I have jury duty Wed & Thurs!!! ACK! Anyway, your pretty card took my mind off things for a few seconds, because it sure is bright & cheerful...and your friend will certainly enjoy it. And enjoy your lunch, once you get together! Thanks for sharing this with us this week at CQC!
ReplyDeleteLOL! I never knew this week was called that! I'm sure your friend will appreciate this beautiful card and I hope that you have a great time together after Easter!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty Kim, right down to that sweet polka dot butterfly! Thanks so much for joining us at the ColourQ!
ReplyDeletewhat a beauty, my friend!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely card, Kim, it is clean, bright and beautiful! So happy you found time to play this week. Hope you enjoy your Easter week and thanks for playing at the colourQ.
ReplyDeleteSo sweet and thoughtful of you! Well I couldn't fill in the H.... word, because my English isn't sufficient enough, but I think I can guess that it means something as 'a really heavy / hard week'. :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd you know, babies never come at a convenient time, that's my experience, ha, ha.
She'll be so pleased with your great and colorful/ bright card, it'll cheer her up for sure!
Bye, I soooo need to do a lot of catching up on a lot of blogposts I've missed, :-)

I also know about Holy Week. I was a church secretary for years and it was bulletins upon bulletins - which is definitely easier than music. This year I just have to play in the bell choir. But enough about me. Your card for your friend is lovely and I'm sure she will appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteHa I can see how Holy Week would be stressful for you...my cousin's hubby does the same thing and is wiped out by the end.
ReplyDeleteLove this fun and bright card..beautiful. Happy Easter.
Eeek! Love it! That flower just pops against the soft gingham. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a winner :) love the way u incorporated the colors
