CAS(E) this Sketch! CELEBRATE

It's time for a new sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch!  Check out this big diagonal!

I decided to keep it fun and festive using this big "celebrate" die three times. This was an amazingly easy card, but I think it still has a ton of interest.  Just three die cuts, a button and a bow.  I think it's because the use of a diagonal is a surprise and makes people take notice.

Celebrate x3

I started out in a slightly different direction - using patterned paper on the diagonal.  I like this next card, I just feel like it's missing something and I can't figure out what.

Celebrate Balloons

Do you see how much fun a diagonal can be??  I hope you head over to CAS(E) this Sketch!, check out all of the inspiration and then give it a try for yourself!

  1. Love both of these cards! I will plagiarize them. What if the white space on the second card were embossed with squiggly lines that echo some of the balloon strings? Maybe that would take care of the missing "something." I shouldn't advise--you are so good at this.

  3. Oh gosh these are so fun Kim, gave me a smile!! The balloon card is my fave and looks great. If you added anything... I guess maybe sequins or gems for some sparkle?

  6. Fun and diagonal are definitely two words I would not put together...I have such trouble with that dang diagonal!! I gulped hard when I saw the sketch for this week. And then I saw the DT samples and had my socks blown off (again!). I just LOVE the approach you used for this with the word die. FAB-U-LOUS cards - nothing missing - not a one, as far as I'm concerned!

  8. These are great, Kim, and I love that die. Maybe the second card Celebrate needs a shadow to set it off from the printed paper?

  10. FAB cards, both of them! Great die too and you're right. Diagonal makes one look at your cards with an angle and it's definitely surprising the effect this has on your festive cards.

  14. Kim, your pumping out the amazing creativity faster than I can keep up! Apologies for being late! I'm with Shannon - fun and diagonal always see me stymied, however, both your cards here remind me that 'simple' is the best approach. Awesome and amazing x 2!!
