This was a 10-minute card which never EVER happens for me. I might be the slowest cardmaker on the face of the earth. I have to see everything (I can't visualize it) so I cut and re-cut, change colors, re-arrange and don't even get me started on how long bling takes to add. But I belatedly realized that I needed to send a card along with my husband who was heading to the airport to go help his mother through a surgery. He was packing and I was in a panic. I hadn't made a card for this sketch yet and I thought that a gorgeous flower die in the corner would be just right for both my MIL and the sketch.
I was flipping through dies and saw this cover die and the skies opened and the birds sang! I don't think I've ever had quite this strong a moment of total mojo overload. So much sweet detail for MIL and a flower in the corner for the sketch.
Is it a perfect card? No. If I had had time to obsess, it would probably have a different sentiment and probably a different flower center and maybe different bling. Do you see what I mean? I am such a slow cardmaker. But sometimes it just feels good to get it done and be happy with it!

What a gorgeous card, which is perfect just as it is! I love the texture that gorgeous die adds and the colors are so soft and pretty. I hope the surgery goes well and the recovery is quick.

ReplyDeleteDarling get well card, I like it very much. But I must thank you for your true confessions of being a slow card maker. Sometimes, I just can't believe how slow I am and how long it can take me to place a single element, etc. I keep thinking I'll get faster, but it never happens. I'll save this design in my "cards to copy" file. :) The whittle fishes card is adorable, too.
ReplyDeleteI am also a very slow card maker. It's usually two hours from start to finish, including the thinking and re-thinking - and OVER thinking. HA! This is a beautiful card that I am sure she loved! I love that corner die and the pretty colors you used!

ReplyDeleteThis is such a clever and beautiful take on the sketch! I love that sentiment and the flower die-cut is gorgeous! And a 10-minute card is unheard of for me. 2 hours would probably be average.
ReplyDeleteWhat a very pretty card! This "flower in the corner" die is just gorgeous! I love the soft color palette. BTW, I'm also an utterly slow card maker. Each detail have to be thought more than once before I have card finished.
