BIRCH TREES, BIRDS and SQUIRRELS
My very favorite season for cards is autumn! It's mainly about all of my favorite colors being fall colors. But I also love nature - leaves and trees and birds and squirrels!! I think I got it all on this card!
Mainly I wanted to show off the Birch Tree Background. I have routinely used Taylored Expressions, Birch Tree Cutting Plate (a big die cut birch tree), Birch Tree Border (a border die with just a couple of trees) and Birch Tree Accessories which gives you the deer, birdhouse, owl and more. I love them all! But the stamped background gives me a chance to be a bit more subtle. It doesn't have to be subtle, but that's what immediately called my name. I found a scrap of light gray and stamped in a light gray ink. (After I had it all made - wouldn't it have been nice had I stamped in white ink?!!)
I used the previously released Peek-a-Boo Circles to cut my little windows out of the background. There's a few other new items on this card and I jumped the gun because they are all being "sneak-peeked" tomorrow. The two sentiments are from Pumpkin Bouquet and the things are in the squirrel circle are all from Door to Door Fall Decor. The birds are the previously released Little Bits - Birds.
This card makes me happy!
WISH BIG SHAKER
The big special for the birthday release is the Wish Big Stamp & Die Combo which is FREE this month with any purchase of $50 ore more!! It's a fun set with "HAPPY" and "WISH" done with big open letters to color - and a coordinating die for each. Then add in some extra words and balloons and strings and you have a set that works for any birthday card you need to make!!
I was so into autumn, that I kept going with some of the same colors. It doesn't yell "autumn" but it still has the same rich colors that I love!!
Also new on this card is the Little Bits - Sprinkles Confetti and the Confetti Embossing Folder. I used an older die set, Build a Tag 1, because it was sized perfectly and it allowed me to cut a window for the shaker bits. It's so exciting to have a die that allows me to cut confetti using cardstock that matches my card!
