This is the first card that I have made since I started working full-time last Monday. Not just full-time but mandatory 55 hour weeks as I started in public accounting during tax season! I don't need to be in until 8:30 this morning (Saturday, ugh!) - I'm an early morning person - so I had an hour before I caught the train to make and blog a card. Sadly, it has always taken me more than an hour. Here's what came out and then I will tell you how utterly and totally obsessive I am.

Merry Monday: Jingle Jingle
This week's challenge at Merry Monday is to use bells.
If the picture isn't totally clear to you - click on it. When it's clear you will see that the dots on the "j" and the "i" have glue smudges because I was moving too fast. I also noticed a glue smudge in the upper left which, in my old life, I would have erasered off and retaken the picture. The biggest thing that annoys me is that the "jingles" are too close to the top and that they aren't lined up straight. I really would have redone this card!! Maybe working full-time will have the unexpected advantage of teaching me to "let it go" when it comes to cardmaking!!!
No time for a supply list this morning. The "jingle" comes from Tim Holtz Holiday Words Script and the bell is from Lil' Inkers.
I don't see any problems with your card at all! It is very bold and festive! It caught my eye right away when I was scanning the entries. So glad you found a moment to craft!
ReplyDeletei'm like you in being obsessive about ink/glue smudges and such - but your card is really great and looks like a winner to me!
ReplyDeleteI love this card - I think it's a 'bigger' version of mine - I love your festive colours and the big sparkly bell! You can fix the little things later - but you've got a winning design here, and that's the hardest part! (I remember tax season from back in the day....).
ReplyDeleteLove your card...looks perfect to me :) Love the big glittery bell
ReplyDeleteHugs, Kaz :)
Kim this is fabulous and looks very perfect to me, but I completely understand the perfectionism. Those little things make me rangy too. Hope week 1 has gone well for you!
ReplyDeleteI have that script die and the jingle bell! Why couldn't I think of doing this with them? And I think the jingles are perfect and don't see excess glue. Good luck with the job. Hope we'll still be seeing you occasionally! Thanks for sharing with us at Merry Monday!
ReplyDeleteWhoo hoo on the job!!!! I remember February too as I worked for a Financial Planning firm for 7 years and when it was RRSP season - oh my!! Had a tax firm next door to us and we used to see who had longer hours! Congrats on your new job :) Best part, it will get easier after March as shorter hours :)
ReplyDeleteWe're all our own worst critics Kim, this is fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome CAS design Kim, a glue rubber might have fixed your glue issues, I have the same perfection traits too, but I think it's just fine. Best Wishes with your new job. Thanks for sharing at Merry Monday.
ReplyDeleteOh we are so hard on ourselves! This is a sweet holiday card! One of my favorite dies! Glad you made it through your first week!
ReplyDeleteThanks for using your spare hour to make and post a beautiful card for us! Glue happens...
ReplyDeleteI think you are being too hard on yourself. This is so fabulous and creative. Love it. Thanks for joining us this week at Merry Monday.
ReplyDeleteCAS perfection, love it! Thank you for playing along with Merry Monday.
ReplyDeleteI do believe you just won this challenge. Love the repetitive sentiment and the sparkly bell.
ReplyDeleteDeep breath. Repeat after me.... "Let it go." "It's really a wonderful card." "What flaws???" "It's a really wonderful card." There. Now don't you feel better?! Congrats on the new F/T job, and so sorry it has so many hours as you jump back in. It will get easier, I promise. And your card? Well, it's a really wonderful card!! Love that triple sentiment, and that sweet glittery jingle bell. I like it just the wonderful way it is! Bev
ReplyDeleteThis card is such a different take on the theme. I like its simplicity and freshness. Lovely design and I'm not looking for glue smudges... But enjoying the visual impact
ReplyDeleteWell, I see you are still being too hard on yourself, Kims! Your card is a delight and I love the overlapping jingles!! I thought you'd been quiet on the ol' blog and I wondered if you were working. Congratulations on using that degree you worked so hard for, even if you are jumping in with both feet and then some! I know you can handle it with style and I hope you continue to find time for your happy place!! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteLove the simplicity of your card!
ReplyDeleteWow, if I could make a card half as nice as this I would feel like wonder woman!
ReplyDeleteI love this card!
