What finally convinced me to post it was re-doing it with white. This card doesn't meet the challenge guidelines of monochrome, but it made me feel better about a CAS design...this feels clean to me! We all have our personal definitions of CAS, and I am clearly a person who needs true "white" space, not just open space!
For both cards I simply stamped the smaller flowers, masked them (check out this post for tips and techniques to make masking easy), then stamped the leaves by stamping once "full strength" and then again without reinking.
A big FYI - in 15 minutes I am waking up my family to start our typically frantic process of getting ready to fly out of town. We are headed to Washington D.C. to deliver my youngest son to a leadership camp. (Supposedly he gets to meet the occupants of the White House - we are thinking that's probably the dog!). Then the rest of us are spending time with my in-laws.
Unlike other wonderful bloggers who have a whole week of posts prepared and scheduled for you - I was lucky to get this one up. I have a post scheduled next Tuesday in line with my duties as Guest Designer at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. But other than that - I won't be back until Monday the 20th.
I am sure, during the hours spent with my in-laws, I will seriously be missing my craft corner. But I do have my iPad and I all of my favorite blogs available for reading, so I can get my card fix that way. I'll be back soon!

Kim these are both beautiful and so different just because of colour. I love the monochrome one as it really shows off that beautiful flower. Say hello to DC for me. We have dear friends in Alexandria and I love visiting. Have a great time. Hugs Zoëx
ReplyDeleteFantastic monochrome card Kim. the 'white' space can most certainly be coloured!
ReplyDelete[Love your other card too]
Thank you very much

Have a wonderful break!!
ReplyDeleteI think both these cards are just gorgeous. For me the monochrome one is my favourite - and both are most definitely CAS. You do make the most lovely cards!
Oh my goodness. These are so beautiful. I love them both.
ReplyDeleteHave fun! Enjoy your time with family!
ReplyDeleteLove how completely different the cards seem to be just from changing the colours. They're both awesome and your masking always rocks. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful trip!
Dear Kim.. Wow, I love LOVE what you did to the cards. So stunning! That white looks so good with the .. crumb cake... I think.. I don't think I have tried that combo yet. Thanks for the reminder. The Verve sentiment is also very Perfect for these flowers..
ReplyDeleteAnd I loved your little comment about the dog. You have such a great sense of humor.
Inky hugs, Pauline
Enjoy your break ... and don't stress about posts missed! You deserve to relax & take a break! I wonder who you will meet??? Wowsers! I find I struggle with the Less is More challenges. I just always seem to do "more" than what is required. I am sure this will pass the test, though! Love both combos! Hugs xxaxx
ReplyDeleteTwo fabulous cards, the flower stamps are lovely, I like them both! Well our weather here in the UK has been typically wet, windy and cold! I've had the heating on, it's so cold! Enjoy your wonderful trip, what an amazing opportunity for your son!
ReplyDeleteBoth gorgeous cards Kim. It's amazing the difference in mood the different colour palettes evoke. The first is so soft & restful, & the second bright & zingy. :)
