A Rabble of Butterfly Cards

Yesterday I posted a "flock" of bird cards.  I had to look up what a group of butterflies were called and they are a "swarm" (which I used on an earlier post today) and a "rabble".  So here's my rabble of butterfly cards!

The first card uses baby wipes and reinkers.  I found it on a post on the clean&simple blog from over a year ago.

The next card is for this week's sketch challenge at Just Add Ink.

This card was inspired by a card by Sunflower Stamper.  When I saw it I realized that I had this funky tool from Crop Stop that functions as a "B" plate in the cuttlebug but has the middle cut out so it doesn't emboss.  (See the second pix.  They also now have one with an oval opening.)

I am still in my church cardmaking panic - I have to leave in 1/2 an hour and I still have to plop some dinner in front of the kids and maybe I should get out of my sweats!!  So I will be back on Sunday to fill in all of the "recipes" for these cards.  Sorry for any inconvenience.

  1. Kim, firstly I want to say that when I opened your blog I thought I had opened mine by mistake, your blog template is the same as what I currently have! Secondly, I just saw and bookmarked a tutorial today using this funky tool to create an unembossed centre section...was trying to figure out if I could make my own up. Lastly, I love your card for this week's JAI challenge and thanks for playing along.

  4. You've been a busy lady today! LOL! You are the embossing queen and while I love all three of these the second is my favourite. Love the pink and brown and the flower embossed on the background.

  5. I've wondered now and then how to easily get an unembossed portion on a card! That tool is perfect! Love all the cards you are creating!! Wish I could say the same for myself, but such is life right now! :)

  6. Beautiful rabble of butterfly cards Kim. Love the starkness of the black & white with the great spectrum of colour on the first, the perfect placement of the embossing & butterfly on the second & the elegance of the third. Thank you too for sharing all the links. :)

  7. I notice you didn't get back to do the recipes ... but I am GLAD!!! You certainly needed to take a breather after your huge weekend. These are delicious, Kim ... and I especially like the silhouetted butterflies one! A definite CASE card there! Hugs xxaxx
