Inspiration: Nutcracker Suite

I have an unexpectedly busy day so my planned posts for today (Part 5 of a series on Church Card Ministries and Friday Focus: Small Step, Big Impact) will not go live until tomorrow.  Be sure to come back!

I do have a one card to share today.  The Free 4 All challenge at SplitCoast Stampers was to be inspired by the Nutcracker Suite.  At first I wasn't sure that I could be inspired, because with a beginner trumpeter in the house who is playing Nutcracker Suite at his Christmas concert next week - all that I have heard for a month is a beginner version of the piece with a new trumpeter who can't quite get all the notes.  So I am having a love/hate relationship with this piece right now!

Then I remembered that I was browsing Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and fell in love with this Sweet Cocoa digital stamp, but I showed restraint and didn't buy it.  This challenge was the perfect excuse!  This stamp represents the mouse (battle!), the Chinese teacups and the Dance of the Snowflakes.

(IRL - the teacup matches the background paper!)

I used a variety of sparkle and shine on my image: Smooch Pearlized Top Coat on the candy cane, the mouses nose and the large snowflakes on the teacup; Dimensional Pearls on the marshmallows and StarDust Stickles on the small dots on the teacup.

The layout for this card comes from Card Patterns.
