TE Sneak Peeks Day 2: Mom and Butterflies

It's day 2 of sneak peeks for the April release from Taylored Expressions!  Today I'm using a gorgeous layered butterfly stamp set on a celebration card and on a Mother's Day card.  All the new products you see today will be available on Thursday, April 6th, 2017. Be sure to check out each of the creative team members' blogs for all of the sneak peeks - starting with the Taylored Expressions blog.

Layered stamping gives such amazing dimension.  Even with two layers, you get shadows and with three layers, amazing things happen!!  Taylored Expressions has a number of layered sets in their Simply Stamped line.  Now we have Simply Stamped - Butterflies!

Taylored Expressions: Celebration Butterflies

There is so many options with these stamps.  Taylor always releases a style sheet which shows you the layering options.  For these butterflies, there are multiple two-layer options and a couple of three-layer options - many, many different looks with just a few stamps.

I have used two different two-layer options on my butterflies. With even two layers, I can get different looks on each butterfly. The pink butterfly has a light pink base using Cupcake and a top layer with Pink Champagne. The blue butterfly has a Salt Water Taffy base with a different top layer in Sprinkles.  The orange butterfly has a Candy Corn based but stamped off once on scrap paper, the a full-strength Candy Corn top layer.

I added a few sprinkles by tapping my Glitter White Wink of Stella pen on my finger. (If you squeeze a bit of liquid to the tip, you can get bigger sprinkles.)  Then I added a sentiment from the set using Sugar Cube ink and white embossing powder.

Here's the supply list for this card and be sure to keep reading for a chance at prizes and for another sneak peek!!

Before I share a peek at another product, I'm excited to tell you that Taylored Expressions is celebrating Release Week with some fabulous giveaways! Visit the TE blog to answer Taylor's Question of the Day for a chance to win a prize from the latest release!

There's a new line of simple sentiments coming out called "Simply Said".  Last month, we had Simply Said-Spring.  This month, I want to show you one of this month's new sets, Simply Said-Mom.

Taylored Expressions: Much Love

Did you notice that I also tucked in a smaller butterfly from the new Simply Said-Butterflies?  I used a flower from the previously release Happily Ever After and I used the Leafy Vine Cutting Plate. (With the cutting plate, I cut the entire cutting plate then I laid out my scene and I trimmed the vines on the cutting plate so that just the portion behind the scene remained.)

Taylored Expressions: Much Love

I did use some small dots of Nuvo drops on the butterfly just to add some more interest.  And check out the Simply Said-Mom set - I used "Much Love" on the outside and then there's a coordinating "Happy Mother's Day" for the inside!

Tomorrow is all about graduations!  Be sure to head over to the TE blog for links to the rest of the creative team and to enter the question of the day contest!

  1. Both are so pretty Kim! The first is soft and wispy, looks like Spring. And the second, with the bolder colors, feels like Summer!

  3. Two really pretty cards, Kim. Those are such sweet butterflies, and while I don't use them often myself, they look just right on your cards. I especially like the yellow one on your second card. Love the colors you've chosen for each. Gorgeous. Bev
