TE Sneak Peek Day 1: Blooms and Kaleidoscopes

It's the first day of sneak peeks for the January release from Taylored Expressions!! This release is a fabulous mix of fun - birthdays, unicorns, rainbows - and much more.  Everything you see in the next four days of sneak peeks will be available on Thursday, January 12, 2017.  Be sure to check out each of the creative team members' blogs for all of the sneak peeks - starting with the Taylored Expressions blog.

Let me start by showing you a new petite Stamp & Die Combo - Bloomin' Birthday.

TE Bloomin' Birthday 1

The new stamp set comes with the stem, a variety of blooms, a big hello and this birthday sentiment. FYI: there's one stem with leaves at the top - I just turned it upside down for the cluster of plum flowers.  I decided to put them in a variety of terracotta vases using Various Vases and then I needed a shelf so I used the Rainbow Scallop Border.

I had the two vases done and filled with the blooms but the card just didn't look balanced.  So I cut another vases and trimmed the top off to make a small pot.  I added a bit of green vine using Bloomers Greenery.

TE Bloomin' Birthday 2

To give the vases some dimension, I edged them in white.  I really love Sugar Cube ink.  You can see that it gives very solid coverage. I used Nuvo Crystal Drops in Oyster Grey in the center of the little plum flowers, and I used Gunmetal Stickles in the center of the Dijon flower.

Here's what's on this card - but be sure to keep reading for a chance at prizes and another sneak peek.

SUPPLY LIST

Before I share a peek at another new product, I'm excited to tell you that Taylored Expressions is celebrating Release Week with some fabulous giveaways! Visit the TE blog to answer Taylor's Question of the Day for a chance to win a prize from the latest release!

My next projects show off the new Kaleidoscope Embossing Folder.  My first project was somewhat inspired by the name of the folder.  I envisioned lots of bright colors blending into each other so I pulled out my Clarity Stencil Brushes to brush on Candy Corn, Lemon Meringue and Plum Punch.  I do love these brushes.  It's the first time that I've been able to get strips of color without sponge edges showing or without darker and lighter blotches.  And I can build up the color - it can be really soft - or vibrant such on on this card.  I used the Block Party - Happy die to go with the bright colors.

TE Kaleidoscope EF

As I was looking at this card, I started thinking the folder could go an entirely different direction and take on a quilt look.  So I found a simple pattern in my stash and "quilted' it!  I figured I'd change up the sentiment and used Block Party - Thanks.

TE Kaleidoscope EF

The I looked again and thought that the embossing folder can really stand alone - so I went all pink with a slightly darker pink for the heart button and the Block Party - Hello die.

Dang, girl!! These are just fabulous!! The vases and flowers are sweet, and I think you're brilliant for the white edging on the vases, PLUS, the scalloped bit for a shelf... Can I borrow some of your mojo for a little while?! And at first, I wasn't nuts about the ef, but, WOW. You've taken it to such pretty levels. I'm impressed, and in love with your cards. Amazing!! Hope your New Year is starting off wonderfully. Bev

Happy New Year, Kim! December seemed to pass in a blink and with it, seemingly no opportunity to leave comments! Apologies galore. Hope the thought bubbles of 'oohs and aahs' reached you because they were being sent express mail! Your cards here: outstanding! I'll second Bev's comment: impressive and lovely! Your use of the embossing folder? Dazzling!
