TE Sneak Peek Day 1: Celebrations and Streamers

It's the first day of sneak peeks for the September release from Taylored Expressions!!  It's a big month because it is TE's 8th birthday - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!  I've been a fan from day 1 so it's been truly exciting for me to be on the design team the past few years.

This release has all kinds of birthday fun - stamps, dies and watercolor panels!!  There's also plenty for my favorite time of the year - autumn.  Today is all about the big birthday.

Be sure to check out all of the other designers starting on the Taylored Expressions blog because there is just too much for one designer to show off in just a few days.  All of the products that I have used are linked at the bottom of this post, but remember that new products aren't available until Thursday, September 1st, 7 a.m. PST.

The birthday celebration includes some fun party favors! These include everything from the exclusive WISH BIG stamp & die combo set to patterned paper packs, ink, and more! Visit the TE Blog for all the special offers and for your chance to win a fun prize!

LET'S CELEBRATE YOU WATERCOLOR PANEL

I love that this birthday celebration includes a new set of pre-printed watercolor panels!!  So far, TE has three sets of these panels: Christmas, an "uplifting" set with a Christian theme, and a "keep in touch" set.  Now we can add birthday with the release of the 3x4 Watercolor Panels - Birthday!  I particularly like this set because there are three of each design - so I can totally blow it and have another one to color!  Luckily, the joy in watercoloring is that it's hard to blow it (although you'll see I tried really hard in this card.)

TE Watercolor Birthday Panels

Here's the close-up.  I truly dislike showing close-ups of watercoloring.  You can see I was in a hurry in a couple of places where I didn't wait for one color to dry before I started with another color so I got some bleeding.  I do like that watercoloring allows some of this messiness - you can color outside of the lines and it looks like it's supposed to be that way.

I used Zig markers which are available in the TE shop (see links below).  I found that 049 Green Shadow, 026 Light Pink, 024 Wine Red, 303 Shadow Mauve (but it looks light blue), and 033 Persian Green (looks darker blue) match the paper very well.  The paper is from the already available Hello Happiness Paper Pack.  You can also buy the paper pack with coordinating cardstock here and there's coordinating sequins.

I added drops of Stickles around the border. I still thought it was missing something so I added the curly strips across the center.  They come from the Skinny Mini Borders 2.  With all of that - it's definitely a card that celebrates.

PASTEL PARTY STREAMERS

For my next card, I stuck with the same Hello Happiness Paper Pack but used a soft pink polka dot print cut with the previously released Frame in Frame 2 Cutting Plate.  I wanted to go pastel on this one because the other great thing in this release are the new ink colors Pink Champagne and Mint Julep which work perfectly with the Hello Happiness paper!  I used these colors plus a little Salt Water Taffy to add the new Party Streamers across the card.

I wanted to highlight the sentiment so I cut some "sequins" from new Little Bits - Sequins Confetti. How fabulous that I can use coordinating cardstock and everything matches!  I did add a spritz of shimmer spray to make them "sequiny"!   I also added some pearl drops across the green banner just for interest.

I hope you are feeling the celebration!  Be sure to head over to the TE Blog to see more cards and for links to all of the other designers, plus a chance to win party favors.

  5. I don't tend to use pastels with my stamping so it is really neat for me to see others do it and push me to get out of my comfort zone.
