Merry Monday Christmas Challenge: Blessings

The current challenge at Merry Monday Christmas Challenge is to use blue, gold, white/silver.

I ended up with a simple little card, but it took FOREVER.  I almost decided multiple times that this challenge just wasn't going to happen for me.  I started with cute little trees and "treetops glisten" but I was using silver and gold embossing powders which I find wildly frustrating to use so I got annoyed and quit.  Then I pulled out deco foil and was going for blue, silver and gold snowflakes.  I'm not sure what happened with that card except that I couldn't even decide on snowflake dies so that clearly wasn't meant to be.

Then the light bulb came on in an entirely different direction when I stumbled upon an unused candle die - I immediately saw a golden flame and silver sparkle.  Then I spent another hour or so trying and re-trying sentiments.  I seem to struggle with sentiments more than anything else.  They need to be the right size, the right style, the right saying.  The one I ended up using wasn't really what I had in mind, but it was close in each area.

After the struggle, I decided it was worth it.  In fact, I made four of them to add to the Christmas stash!

Sadly, there's very little I can link.  The sentiment is from an old Stampin' Up set called Star Studded Season. The sparkly silver and gold is paper that I get from Michaels.  I really like it because it is very sparkly but not as thick and chunky as others so it die cuts well - and there are lots and lots of colors.

  12. Thanks for including all the obstacles you had to overcome with this card, Kim. It turned out beautiful! I have had similar challenges where it takes an hour to design the card and 5 or 10 minutes to put it together. However , the design phase is the most fun, don't you think?
