So Thankful Twig Wreath

I don't generally purchase 'builder' type sets - those sets with lots of little flowers or leaves and you stamp each one individually and build up a bouquet. It has nothing to do with not liking the results. I definitely do. It has everything to do with my need for control.  I make all the little pieces, I arrange them, then as soon as I start picking them up to adhere them, the arrangement falls apart and I start all over.  In other words, I'm just too obsessive for them.

Having said that, I just got the Papertrey Ink Twig Wreath. I loved everything that I saw done with the little elements. I loved that there were a couple of bold flowers and then some flower "bursts". I have to say that I wasn't quite as in love with the wreath as I was with the flowers - but I did challenge myself to use the wreath today.

So Thankful

I wanted the wreath to be more substantial so stamped it once on the white cardstock and then I did two more die cuts of the wreath and layered them slightly askew.

I do love the look of each little flower and sprig.

So Thankful CloseUp

Now I'm going to go try to do something with the dozens of little pieces that I created and didn't use on this card!!

  7. Well I'm glad I'm not the only one who has the problem of arranging all the bits and pieces to my liking then when I go to stick them down permanently everything falls apart! They never seem to go back to the same spot they were in before the adhesive. Must be some crazy, crafty conspiracy. But never fear, this arrangement is beautiful. The colors are so warm and spicy!

  8. Your wreath is beautiful, Kim. I don't own a single 'builder' wreath set...far beyond my capabilities! Great to see you overcame your challenge, with most fabulous results. I've heard that people take photos of their arrangement pre-assembly (something I never even thought of doing!), although I suspect you already do this. Bottom line: your card is stunning!
