Sunday Stamps: A Better Place

I had a crafty playdate with my Stampin' Up friend last week.  I always go through her stash and see what she has that I don't.  I found this Starburst Sayings set (I hadn't even noticed it before, but it's great!).  Then I went looking for a challenge and saw that the current challenge at Sunday Stamps would show it off very well.

A Better Place

Not a lot of chat from me today.  It's finals week - again!  In a program with two courses every two months, finals week seems to come around way too regularly.  I have two big papers due Sunday at midnight and I haven't even started (I keep getting distracted by my craft desk!)
  • Stamps: Stampin' Up Starburst Sayings, Regarding Dahlias (thank you)
  • Paper: Stampin' Up Pool Party, So Saffron, Baked Brown Sugar, Retro Fresh dsp
  • Ink: Stampin' Up Tangerine Tango, Baked Brown Sugar, Versamark (for heat and stick)
  • Accessories: Stampin' Up ribbon, scallop punch, button, twine, starburst dies, heat and stick powder, Ellen Hutson Daffodil sequins

  1. I believe you've got a winner here! Wonderful card, Kim! I'm so glad you made time to make a card, and I know you'll get those papers done in time and get A+s on both of them. Thought about graduate school after I got my degree, but was too tired! It's for the best now, I need to be home with DH. Love the colors of your card, the sweet little button, and you've nailed this sketch. Well done! Bev

  2. Great sketch! Love your colorcombo, it's soooo you, ha, ha.
Love the pleaded (!!) ribbon behind the banner and of course the sequins add the perfect finishing touch.
Wish everything in life could be so fullfilling as crafting and visiting craftblogs. :-)
I wish you good luck on your exams!
Hope you'll pass, makes it worth all the hours you couldn't spend behind your craftdesk, ha, ha.
    Bye,

  4. Oh yes, I totally understand the 'distractions' that become far more alluring when some 'must do' things are on the agenda. I was a 'last minute' assignment student often, and while that's not a strategy I recommended my students take when I was a teacher, the irony was that many times, the last moment hand-ins were the best. Go figure. I, though, applaud your craft desk calling to you, because the card that resulted is outstanding! Eye-catching colour combination, and the scallop+ribbon+sentiment circle+button+sequins cluster is fabulous! Gorgeous!! Cheering you on with tackling the papers; I know you'll ace them!
